Alliance was easy to reach and provided estimates over the phone for a garage door opener (highly-rated LiftMaster belt drive) and installation as well as an estimate to replace our garage door. While we chose to use another company (lower cost for the highly-rated Chamberlain belt drive) we will probably use Alliance when we replace our garage door in a year or two. Victor arrived earlier than expected, around 1200 hours, and repaired the broken spring and also recommended that we replace the pulley assembly inside the motorized unit, since the bushing was damaged and the chain was sagging. He provided an estimate for this work and was able to install the bushing and pulley assembly within an hour. Victor was very courteous, professional, explained everything , and provided an estimate before engaging in the work. Services Rendered: The automatic garage door opener (the spring) unexpectantly broke on 20 November 2017 at around 1500 hours . I called Raynor, the original installers at 1600 hours, but they had already closed for the day and could not be reached until the following morning. I found Alliance Overhead Doors on Angies list. Since he had an "A" review and was located in Makaha, near our residence in Makakilo, I gave him a call. Victor responded that he could arrange a service call the following day between 1 and 3 PM.

I called at 5:30 Pm and they had a service man, Kalin, there at 10 AM the next day. He was excellent. He refurbished all the problems with the door mechanism -- new springs, rollers, cable. When he was finished the door works better than in the last 20 years. I thought I was going to need a new door... He knew exactly what to do. I recommend this company and Kalin in particular Services Rendered: My large, heavy wooden garage door had a broken spring and would not open.. My car was trapped inside.

Overall, this company deserves an "A" but there was a mix up with the scheduling hence the B grades for responsiveness and punctuality. Called on Thursday and scheduled a visit for Saturday between 12 and 3. Victor was a "no-show" so I called around 3 to find out when he would arrive. He said that he had called earlier and couldn't get ahold of me because he thought my appointment was for Monday but wasn't sure and that he was already in another part of the island so he couldn't get back to my area. Initially he tried to say he called a lot earlier to check and that's why he couldn't get me back but checking my phone logs showed that he called only an hour before I called so he must have been already on his way to the other customer. Since he got such high ratings in Angie's List, I decided to go through with the job and rescheduled for Monday. On Monday Victor sent his technician, Kalini, who was on time and very engaging - explaining all his work to me and how I should maintain the garage door. He gave me a good price for his maintenance and was very quick to rebalance the door and adjust the springs so even my wife can lift the door now. Great job, Kalini. Services Rendered: Adjusted garage door lift motion because the springs were getting weaker with age.
