Yelp1I had a garage door emergency on a Thursday night. Basically my garage door was halfway open and couldn't be fully opened or closed. I called Desert Sun, advertised as an emergency service, at 10:30pm and they said they could send a technician between 11pm and midnight. Great. At 12:15 I called them for a status because no tech had called or arrived. I was put on hold. Their response: I'm sorry but our technician got caught up. The soonest we can have someone out there is Sunday. SUNDAY. Basically the response went from 1 hour to THREE DAYS. And I wasted an hour and a half that I could've been looking for an actually responsive provider. Big nope for me on this company.

Yelp5I have worked with Robert for years and I have never had a single complaint or concern. He is prompt, professional and honest which is a rare quality these days!

Yelp5Called on a Saturday morning and Robert came out within 2 hours. Fixed the garage door quickly and price was very reasonable. Thank you Robert.

Yelp1This is the strangest experience I've ever had. We have used Robert twice with wonderful results and good price point. That was years ago. Yesterday I called bc our garage door failed to open. We scheduled an appt for today. Someone named Mike from Cactus Garage Repair showed up. I asked if he knew Robert & he said no. I asked how he came to the appt since I called Desert Sun. Apparently Desert Sun farms work out to Cactus. I was not told this when I made the appt . Now for the rest. Mike said we needed a new motor. It would be $895 installed. Shame on me for not confirming it would be a unit comparable to our basic Genie Motor. I was only presented with the one option-replacement & one price. I was tuve. An email invoice with no info other than it was for "Emi" (I guess the phonetic spelling of my name) & the full cost-no itemization or even company contact info. When my husband came home he noticed the new motor was basically the Cadillac of garage door motors-it has wi-fi, Bluetooth, an app for your phone, it's amazing. But why on earth would we pay for something that's an extensive upgrade? The whole thing was shady, from the fact they now have Roberts phone number to the fact that when I called tonight to complain, "Oscar" told me he had NO RECORD OF ME in their system. I told him I literally spoke to him the day before but he said he'd have to escalate to his "management" to see if my info can be found anywhere else. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Very sad they are riding Roberts coattails and I'm very sorry I let this happen.

Yelp5The remote for my garage door stopped working. After replacing the battery still didn't work. I called this company in the morning and by the afternoon Robert came to my rescue! He's the nicest man and so competent and professional. I was lucky and only needed a new remote! Rare to find someone I can trust. I highly recommend him!

Yelp5My car's garage door remote closed my garage door when I returned from work, but did not close it when I left for work. After a few days of pressing the inside controller, and making a mad dash out before the door hit me, I called Robert. He was at my home in an hour, replaced the control board, and it works fine now. His prices are very reasonable and he really knows his stuff!

Yelp5We went for a Saturday drive in the convertible, only to come home to a garage door that would only open a couple of inches. I did my normal " net search" for help. I found a place called Desert Sun and it being Saturday afternoon thought I would call and ask a few questions. What I got was a very nice man on the other end of the line, and he was the one asking questions. He only asked a couple and told me very quickly what the problem was. The manner in which he spoke was reassuring and the price was very reasonable. When he asked me when I needed it done, I replied "as soon as possible". I did not expect to hear the next few words he said, it being Saturday around 3pm. "Give me 45 minutes and I will come help you", and that he did. He was prompt, polite, and very kind, and most importantly very reasonably priced. I would suggest Robert to anyone in need of Garage Door assistance !
