Yelp1Do not use!! SCAM COMPANY. We have Choice Home Warranty and they sent out Winston Garage Doors. They act in what I would call a shady practice. My garage door failed, when they arrived I was told it was a circuit board but they could replace the opener. Lots of Mumbo-jumbo about labor charges and a warranty credit. My only concern was that the door get fixed for my service charge. While the guy was here I tried calling Choice to no avail, he said they will ignore you. At that point he verified he sent in the claim. Bottom line is we got scammed for an $895 opener (can you believe it?), plus other side items. I have reported them to the Vendor Relations Department at Choice Warranty - their practices are shameful. I will be posting on every site I can find as well as consulting legal counsel for fraud. Have called Winston to try and resolve - no response. DO NOT USE - SEND THEM PACKING IF THEY SHOW UP - SCAM OUTFIT.

Yelp1This company is a rip off! My insurance used them and had them come look at my garage. The torsion spring broke. Nick quoted me $1350 on top of what the insurance will pay. Saying my rollers needed to be replaced also when they were replaced six months ago!

Yelp1Follow up to my 03/13/2024 review. I received a follow up for this review from Winston Doors. They told me they have great reviews and happy customers. They apologized for the "misunderstanding" and "reprimanded" the employee for their bait and switch tactics. Said they would refund my money. Still haven't seen a refund. Asked for my last 4 digits of my account. I told them to look up their receipt. Still waiting............

Yelp1Zero stars if I could. Ross dispatched to my house at 645 am did not leave his location until 720am. Then proceeded to call my wife and say he's going to stop at another call first it's on the way. This was upsetting since the dispatch woke us up and then it was really upsetting because technician did not arrive to our house until 945 am. It took 3 hours for him to get from sun lake city to san tan. Then when he finally arrived he claimed he needed homeowner number. ( were tenants dealing property managers) we advised we have property managers he asked for their number we asked why and he said he could not perform his job due to wire that is not covered underwarranty. The technician had the worst attitude and ton the second he arrived. All of the questions he asked we in a derogatory manner. He then proceeded to say well you need me and I don't need you and at that point my wife kicked his ass out of out house and told him if youbjist did your job right from the start of the morning with open communication on what's going on and why he needed phone numbers instead of just saying I can't do my job cause it's not approved. ... it is not the tenants responsibility to provide information for homeowner contact or approval on repairs. We aren't even aloud to contact our homeowner ourselves. Our technician was Ross. I highly recommend firing this very rude technician I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW RUDE HIS ATTITUDE WAS.

Yelp1They were sent to us by our Home Guard warranty company. We were told that our Wayne Dalton Torquemaster Plus garage door spring was broken and that they have been discontinued (which is 100% false). He then informed us that it was $2200 to do the conversion to a torsion spring. Was told it required all new parts and that it needed to be calibrated. Was told warranty company would only cover $399 toward the spring itself. I was hesitant so then the price quickly jumped down to $1250. The next day I was called and was told they could do it for $650 if I gave a 5 star review. Upon calling my warranty company they said they hadn't even received the diagnosis for the repair yet. When I explained to them what was going on they spent the next 10 days trying to get the repair estimate from Winston doors. I finally just exercised my cash in lieu option in my warranty and upon calling Avondale garage doors was quoted $475 for the entire conversion. I would 100% recommend Avondale garage door company. They were here within 24 hours and had the job done in 45 minutes.

Yelp5Kyle came out and fixed my door in an hr or so, as we chatted about boxing and UFC. As any fight fan knows, it's a rare treat when we find eachother out in the wild. Boxing is still better than the UFC, Kyle.

Yelp1Juan quoted $1,500 out of pocket saying home warranty company would not cover. And this was the minute he walked in without submitting any documents to my home warranty. I hope they are not scamming our elderly. Do not use this company.

Yelp1Serious WARNING SCAMS HERE. AHS sent Winston to diagnose my garage door as it was partially opening. The tech. spent no time to say that it needed new springs and pulleys at $1400. I should have stopped right there. I got another quote for the same work and it was under $600. I don't know what arrangement Winston and AHS have but total rip off. If your home warranty tries sending them, just send them right back.
