Do not use this company. They quoted my elderly parent $5000 to fix her garage door. The technician said she needed to replace everything. A competitor was called for a second opinion. $125 later she has a fully functioning garage door. Dons garage doors is not to be trusted!

I urge caution, DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR WORRY FREE GUARANTEE - it's a SCAM. One of the things they "guarantee" is 24 hour booking - it's not true. When I needed them most, b/c it turns out the work they did on my garage actually caused the issue, they booked me 2.5 days later and to add insult to injury, I had to find another garage door repair place to fix my garage (which wouldn't close) and had to pay the emergency fee for them to show up. Then, when they were supposed to come back btw an 8-1pm window, they didn't call me until 1:05pm and the technician was still 25min out. This is terribly disappointing, and something I will report to the BBB - I never fill out these reviews b/c it's not worth my time, but when given multiple chances to make things right and they don't, that's a problem. I'd caution the other positive reviews b/c I read the same and was tricked...but specifically their "Worry Free Guarantee" program is a SCAM (I should've known better but hopefully this will deter anyone else from buying it). And again, the only reason I'm writing a review is that when given the chance to make this right, I was put on hold and told I couldn't get the entire amount back.

We called Dons because the spring on our garage door broke. The technician advised that not only does the spring need replaced but he recommended that both cables, both drums, both bearing end plates, and the center bearing be replaced. I had no reason not to believe him and agreed authorized the repairs. After the tech left and I reviewed the invoice, I decided to compare the parts charges on my invoice to ********** published prices . It appears ***'s charged between 6X and 11X the ********** price. Specifically,1) 8FT cable pair - $168.83 ***** charged compared to $17.96 at **********.that is over 9X 2) Standard Drum pair - $137.85 ***** charged compared to $11.52 at **********that is over 11X 3) Bearing end plate pair - $153.34 ***'s charged compared to $20.46 at ********** that is over 7X 4) Center Bearing - $77.46 ***'s charged compared to $12.99 that is 6X I am not sure if all of these items needed to be replaced, but I agreed to have them replace based on the tech recommendation. However, I had no idea that the markup of the parts would be between 600% and 1100%.The above was in addition to the $165 an hour labor rate, $39 trip charge and $48.49 shop supply charge I emailed the company the same day asking for an explanation on the large markup and have not heard from them (that was 12 days ago)

You will find a large number of reviews on YELP. I agree with some others comments on upcharging. I have two properties 1) home and 2) rental home both have been serviced by the individual who serviced the properties this year but in a different company Duppy's Doors *********** ** that was acquired by Don's Garage Doors. In my home in ***************** ** the door was under tension cause wife closed the door on her car tailgate ... the technician pushed to replace all of the rollers with new nylon rollers because they are "quieter. Not necessary. Charge $556 Don't much give a d*** about quieter and the steel rollers were working fine, thank you. In the rental property - home in *********** ** I felt coerced to replace the spring. However, the same technician one year ago to the month installed new door opener working with *****'s. ... charge $875. For what? Bottom line total both properties $1431 probably double what was needed. I will not use this company but will use another garage door opener service company in the future.
