Yelp1We recently contracted with these guys to replace our old, worn out garage door. At first we were pleased. The original technician was very pleasant and prompt. He replaced the original Chamberlain unit with a newer model, then stuck around to reprogram all of our old openers to the new unit. (The new unit came with two, but we have several cars and a keypad on the door so he saved us the time and effort by doing these for us before he left.) However by the next day we were running into problems with the new door only going down part way before going back up. After returning to troubleshoot, they realized they put a unit with a less powerful motor on than the original one and it wasn't doing the job, so they swapped it out and again reprogrammed the remotes - minus our keypad, which he couldn't figure out. (?) Unfortunately this did not solve the problem, our garage door would still bounce back up when trying to close the door so we called them back out, they came back out and said they couldn't find anything wrong, and it must just be a loose sensor or we were blocking it. They clamped it down tighter and left. However, this still didn't solve the problem so we insisted they come back out again. By this time we noticed the issue occurred the most frequently but also "instantaneously" (as opposed to trying to close for a second or two before going back up) when there was direct sunlight coming into our garage. We told them this and they said that the sunlight might be causing the sensors to fail and maybe we should put a toilet paper tube over them to act as a shade. Unacceptable. We insisted that we never had a problem with the original garage door in this manner and it's likely a bad sensor and they should come replace it if that's really the problem. They refused to come back out, said that if it was a part problem then we needed to call Chamberlain directly and put in a warranty claim and they would send us a new part. So we called Chamberlain as requested. They ran us through diagnostics over the phone and asked us to provide pictures as we were doing it. They immediately discovered that Lion re-used and spliced in the original wires from the old unit to run to the sensors instead of installing the new wiring like they were supposed to (see attached images). They had us temporarily attach the sensors to each other by the motor so our garage door would work (albeit without the safety features) and told us to have Lion come back out and run the wiring properly which would fix the problem. I have since called Lion 6 times to have this scheduled repair done, and they have yet to return my calls...

Yelp1I'd give zero stars if I could. Technician overquoted spring cost and labor cost. Also mentioned that he'd need my help raising and lowering the door which I thought was odd. Got a bad vibe from this guy to begin with. He seemed less than enthused to be at my home from the start. I paid the trip fee and sent him on his way but just so you're aware. Overquoted springs by $30 each and labor to replace by nearly $300.. When I called the office to speak to a manager, the lady told me that she would have the manager call back. Shocker, no return phone call. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH LION...

Yelp1One of my garage door springs broke. I was charged $625. 29 to replace one spring and it only took him 50 minutes to do it. To replace both as this guy recommended would've cost over a thousand dollars. I never got a receipt for the work either. AVOID!

Yelp1Do NOT use. Person on phone said it would be $59 for them to come out and take a look. I agreed. My rope was stuck in the wrong position. Nothing needed to be changed, no parts, no labor. He said it would be $89 now because they had to "show me how to change the rope." Meaning he literally flipped a switch and said this is release, this is the other way. I argued that it should be $59 but ended up paying because two men were in my house and I'm a female, home alone. Completely ridiculous. Also, curious if they would have been that persistent with a man. Zero stars.

Yelp1Was scammed and ripped off. Quoted 78 dollars for repair so told told them to come out. We asked if it would cost anything for them to come and look at the garage door and they said no. Turned out to be 400+ dollars for repair (just one broken spring). Labor is apparently a 270 flat fee which they also do not tell you when getting a quote. Also there is 60 dollar service fee just to come and look, they will tell you there is no fee on the phone but there is. We will feel ripped off and scammed. Buyer beware.

Yelp3Grossly Over priced - Labor, $225 for 1.5 hours of work. Parts, $205 for $57 worth of parts, and a $15 charge if you want to pay with Credit Card. I only gave them three stars because of the next day service and the job appears to be done properly.

Yelp1"We called Lion Garage Door, US 70, Clayton when our door wouldn't go up. This was last month, January 11. The serviceman came out and repaired it for $325. All good for 2 weeks. Door didn't work again. Called another company (Neighborhood Garage Door Service) who came out and said the spring that Lion put on was too short which damaged the torsion bar. At this point we needed both springs replaced and a new torsion bar. When we called Lion back they were rude, misrepresented the facts and hung up on us!! We were robbed of $325!! Don't get scammed!
