Yelp5Tension cable broke. Arrived quickly and replaced both cables for a great price even though more time was needed due to door being wedged.

BBB1It has taken me a few months to write this review because I was giving *** time to redeem himself as he has lost my trust many times during out very lengthy interaction. My interaction with *** started 10/2019, shortly after I purchased my house. I was in need of a garage door, gate when some unknown person entered my back yard and left the back gate open, allowing all of my dogs to "explore" the neighborhood. Initially, he was quick to respond and had the gate up and running in less than a month. However, that's when the problem started. The gate would stop working. This gate is in the narrow alleyway behind my house, so, when approaching a gate that wouldn't open meant having to back out of the alley and park up front. Inconvenient, but not the reason for the bad review. I called *** multiple times to correct the problem. He would show up at his earliest convenience to try to "Fix" the problem. But the real problem was that he wasn't sure what the problem was that needed fixing. Every time he would come to the house to look at the gate opener, he would never use the front door, no matter how many times I asked him to use common courtesy and knock on the front door to alert me when he was on my property. Instead, he would drive down the back alley and climb over the gate. Most of the time, I would only find out he was there when I looked out into the back yard because I had the feeling I should have heard from him by then. He would never call or text to alert me that he was on my property. After numerous attempts to fix the problem, I suggested that the problem could be the motherboard of device. He dismissed me. Fast forward 3 months to February and the gate still does not work. During this time, my housemate had her car broken into in front of the house and got a ticket. I once again suggested the motherboard. He informed me he ordered one and will install it when he receives it. He tells me via text he came by to install it on 2/8/20. However, my he did not come through the front door, again. My security cameras did not pick up motion in the back yard. The gate still does not work. Fast forward another 5 months. (remember, we are in the middle of a pandemic and it takes a while to coordinate in-person meetings.) He now has called the All-******* rep to help him diagnose the problem. The rep recommends the Motherboard. To which I asked him, "I thought you replaced that back in February the second time I suggested it." This guy literally looks me in the eye and says, "No, I never replaced the motherboard." It took all my strength and effort not to punch this guy in the face. He then finally replaces the motherboard and, what happens? The gate finally works and continues to work! This guy charged me over $12,000 for this initially dysfunctional gate. Then, he lies to me about fixing an issue I suggested he fix, which would have resolved all the problems at that time, which then delayed the usage of a very expensive gate for EIGHT months!!! If he did his job, there would not have been a ticket and most certainly, there would not have been a break-in.Fast forward to the winter months, the rain and wind and storms cause the gates to malfunction and require a reset to work again. I did give *** a call and text, which he ignored initially. He stated he would come take a look. I have never heard back from him since. This bad review is not because of a bad product. Once he fixed everything, it works pretty well and looks good. This bad review is because of poor communication, sneaking onto my property as though he is exempt of common courtesy, and lying to me, ultimately delaying the finished product eight months.I will never use him or this company for any future projects and will never recommend him to anyone else.UPDATE: 11/23/21 The gate has stopped working 11/10/21. I have called a different garage door company to evaluate and diagnose the problem: it is, once again, the motherboard. It turns out, the motherboard that *** installed in July 2020 was a board from 11/4/2015!! I am unsure if it is a used motherboard or new, but definitely old. And it is now dysfunctional and already needs to be replaced, only 16 months after he installed it.
