I recently replaced both garage doors and got several quotes to consider. My decision was easy due to the great experience I had during the sales process with Kyle. I had to address HOA requirements as well as the need to work around my weight lifting area (large rack and 1,000+ pounds of weights.). Kyle was formerly an installer and worked with his Team to accommodate my equipment and provided all of the information necessary for the HOA. He followed up on every request promptly and even had follow up support after the install on a couple of minor issues. I would recommend this company for any new installations, repairs and maintenance. They provided me the "best value" solution and promptly meet their responsibilities and have exceeded my expectations.

Hired them to come out for a " door service" on two regular garage doors they installed 7 years ago thinking they would actually check the doors over. Wrong, tech pulls up, gets out with small can of spray lubricant. He sprays two spots on each door walks back to van. I follow and ask is that the service? He says yes it is! He didn't even check the many panel bolts on the doors. A total waste of 125-150 bucks.. 8 minute service! Called the office and they confirmed this is correct.. Poor service and a waste of money...Update: 8-4-23 It was definitely your company, no doubt. Its a crying shame you choose to operate this way. I thought about this today because Precision Overhead is coming out tomorrow to quote an entire replacement of 2 of your doors.

REVISION: This morning (8/2) I heard from Overhead, they not only explained why but also apologized for our issue with the spring replacement and offered to inspect, fix, or replace the springs if needed at no cost to us. Given this fair resolution and their emphasis that they "take the safety and security of their customers very seriously" please ignore my original review below. In March an Overhead tech made an emergency service visit to us to replace the springs on our garage door that had snapped. He did so, and we were charged $545 (parts and a $200 emergency service charge we were aware of in advance). Last Sunday, just as my wife barely exited our garage, the extremely heavy hurricane door slammed to the ground......potential serious injury and/or damage to her car averted by a few feet. After contacting three door repair companies including Overhead only one responded that day and sent a tech first thing the next morning. The connecting arm to the track had pulled right out of the door because, as the tech (not from Overhead) noted "the springs were not sprung properly therefore the springs were out of balance and that was the cause of the door collapse." The charge for remedying the job that was done seemingly incorrectly by Overhead was $152.....a small price to pay for our peace of mind. I contacted Overhead by email to make them aware of the incident that occurred four months after their tech replaced our springs with new ones. So far no response. I don't know if there is a warranty for service or if they are just claiming plausible deniability. All I wanted was for them to be aware of what happened and respond back to me in some way. I was reluctant to leave this review because I wanted Overhead to have the chance to respond. Evidently customer safely is not a serious enough concern of the corporate executives of the company to be bothered.

Needed two large garage door openers replaced. From the first phone call to installation they were very professional. The phone was answered the first time by a person!! She was very helpful and knowledgeable. The service was scheduled and completed quickly. I highly recommend this company for any garage door needs.

Not happy at all with this company. My truck is going on day 3 of sitting in my garage because they could not fix it & would have to come back but it would be late Friday evening which was fine but they never showed nor did they call me back & still haven't this Sat. morning. My daughter whom I haven't seen in over 4 yrs will be flying in Sunday morning & I have no car because I can't open my garage door. Thanks overhead door for nothing.

I expected my repair to be expensive. But Ralph showed up from Overhead door and fixed my issues. It was extremely reasonable. I personally thought it was going to be a motor but he had it fixed within 30 minutes. Absolutely would recommend them.

I contacted Overhead Door Co. of Sarasota to troubleshoot our malfunctioning 25-year-old garage door opener. My wife knew of their excellent reputation from working with them in the insurance field. The service was scheduled promptly and the service tech was able to get the door working, but I elected to replace it due to the age and scheduled a follow-up appointment for that work. The entire job was handled very professionally from beginning to end. Both techs called me on the morning of their scheduled visit, arrived when promised, completed the work with no problems, cleaned up the debris and showed me how to operate the new opener. The cost was the amount originally quoted. I recommend the company highly.

I have owned homes for about 40 years. I have used Overhead Door on several occasions. Most recently, I had an entire garage door replaced at my home on Longboat Key. The experience was terrible. First, I had to wait nearly 6 months for the door to come in. I understand supply chain issues, but we had to keep calling for updates, there was nothing proactive on OHD's part. When the door finally came in, it was installed by 2 workers who were gruff and impersonal. I made the mistake of tipping them in advance, as I often do, to encourage good work. That was a mistake. The caulking around the door is not only sloppy, with caulk smeared all over the side of the house, there were big open gaps where water could easily get in throughout the caulk lines. Also, it is the noisiest OHD we have ever had. I was not here when they finished, but they assured my wife that the remotes and cars were synched to the new door. Wrong. The only thing that worked was the main button in the garage - the keypad did not work, my car did not work, my wife's car did not work, neither remote worked. After some effort I got them all working except my car, which still does not work. I called and left a message. No response. I sent an email to the email on their web site. No response. I send a second email. No response. I just sent a third email. I don't expect a response. As of this writing, I have not paid my balance - I can only guess they are out of business because of poor customer service and mediocre work. I'll just wait and see if an unpaid bill spurs any proactivity.

Overhead Door of Sarasota Florida has been my go to garage company since 2005 and I've never been disappointed. Recently one of the springs on the door broke and within 24 hours Ray was at my door and repaired my garage door. 5 Star Service all the way and I highly recommend them.

Called Overhead Door on Thursday. No one answered even though my call was during their business hours. I left a message describing the problem - the springs in our garage door had snapped. Never received a call back until Monday, but by then we had already found another company who came out the same day we called.

Wow! Overhead Door was great. They said that the repair man, Ray would be there at 9 and he showed up at 9 on the dot! It only took about 20 minutes to fix our door, and the price was very reasonable! I will be using them again and would recommend to anyone.

The motor for our garage door stopped working. We called Overhead and they helped us diagnose the issue and they quoted us a replacement unit including 2 remotes and programming our cars for a very fair price. They arrived on time and completed all work as promised in under 2 hours and we are back in business. They even serviced the garage door at no additional cost. If you are concerned about power outages consider adding battery back up. For older people who cannot detach the door for manual use it is a worthwhile investment. Thanks Overhead! Honest company, great service and fair prices.

I called this morning as one of the tension springs had broken and I couldn't get the garage door open. The company responded immediately, dispatching Doug to the rescue. He showed up minutes later, explained what needed to be done, and set to work in the very confined space (since the cars were in the garage). He was done replacing both springs in a short time and had even lubricated the rest of the machinery so that it works more smoothly and quietly than it has in recent years. I couldn't be more pleased.

They installed original unit for builder and this unit lasted about 9 yrs New unit was installed in 2013 and has required service calls for adjustments and new springs even though fairly new. I have been using this company for 14 years. I feel there have been too many service calls. Services Rendered: Replacement of original controller with new unit. Replaced 2 springs after 3 years.. Several calls for adjustments.

The door was installed on schedule. The installer when finished, handed me the remote and said they are easy to sync to your car. After having trouble syncing it to my car! I called up the company. They walked me through the process but it never worked. Their solution was for me to come to the shop with my car. I tried on various occasions to sync the car but to no avail. I called up the manufacturer and Home Link. They both walked me through the process. Again it did not work. HomeLink suggested I buy another remote since it has to be the trouble. I called one last time to the local company and was told the installer should have done the initial syncing. I told Ray that this was not the case. He then said that they do not usually do this service when installing the door. I questioned him on why he would say just a few seconds ago that the installer should have done it. Long and short, Ray said it would cost me $95.00 for a service call. I said it is still under warranty and why should I pay for something that they should have completed when installing the door. I refused to schedule service since the job was not completed. His attitude was okay. Good bye. Disappointed in their customer service. Services Rendered: Install a new garage door

Placed a call in the morning and had a tech on site within 2 hours. Work was carried out professionally, efficiently, and neatly. All old parts hauled away. They checked out the second door we have and lubed everything. Very efficient service and we would most certainly call on Overhead Door in the future. Services Rendered: checked out why unit was tripping breaker. Determination was that best resolution based on age of old unit was replacing the entire mechanism - electrics and belt drive. Odyssey 1000 belt opener was installed. Technitian also made sure the remote openers were appropriately programmed.
