Yelp1BAIT & SWITCHED PRICING & INSULTED REPEATEDLY BY TECH I booked an annual lube apt after being quoted a priced and told them I would be home all day. Day of appointment; I am texted with arrival window and called. I get 1 ring. I immediately call back and confirm the appt. I get another text with new arrival window and call which is 1 ring long. I called back immediately (within seconds) & confirm again by phone. I called by technician that berates me for being rude and not communicating with the company about whether or not I will be there. When I tell him about the communications, he goes off on the phone about his company's communication issues he has had, then tells me since both I and the company were so rude he will not come see me today even though my new arrival window has not occurred & still reserved for me. I speak with the company that then tells me they will send someone to come the next day. The next day/new apt day I get a 1 ring call and immediately call them back to find they are confirming for that day. I confirm and tell them I want to make sure it is not that rude person from the day prior and let them know what happened. I am told he is coming & they have notes saying they could not reach me the day prior & left messages. How is that possible when I have 1 ring and immediately called back? I even let her know I have my phone call log that shows this (which of course records the times they are done). He arrives and insists on a coupon if I have it before starting any work despite the fact I tell him I am not using a coupon for work with parts purchased because I am getting a garage door lubed. He gets started on his work. When I return, he makes an off comment about the contents of my garage then asks about the light bulb style in the garage door opener. I tell him that I bought the garage door opener and had someone install it 1.5 yrs ago and those came in the box. He then tells me that is not true, that I know it, and that he has put in lots of garage door openers over the years and never seen one with lightbulbs. I then tell him, actually I bought it because the box said it came with everything needed, and it in fact did have the bulbs. I hired someone, unpacked it while they were here with them to ensure everything was intact, good order before he installed them so I know bulbs were included in the box. He asks if they are LED and I tell him I am not sure what they are, just that it came with bulbs and the guy installed it. He then insults me further by asking if I have a problem telling the truth, then proceeds to insist on charging me more than I was quoted by phone! After he takes the check, he tells me I should look up videos online to learn how to do this stuff myself!

Yelp1SCAM ALERT! SCAM ALERT! These guys are ripoff artists. They wait for people to have an emergency issue and take advantage. Make sure to call around and ask for quotes over the phone from others before inviting these crooks over. These a-holes charged me $700 for a $300 job. Then I ended up with a garage that sounds like crap and doesn't seal properly. For $700 my garage should be running better than ever. Don't do business with these rats. I called back to complain and they immediately offered $75 for me to shut up and go away. The offer was so quick, I could tell people complaining about their scam, ripoff predatory pricing is a call they get often. Call Overhead door or a better, more honest garage door service provider. RUN AWAY from these THIEVES!

Yelp1This company engages price gouging. They came out to repair our garage door that had gotten off the track. They charged us $ 419.98 totally ridiculous, took them less than twenty minutes. The technician Michael said it was because he was that good, (needs to get over himself), he said it was a delicate operation. Only reason we paid it was because storms were predicted for that evening (which we did get) and our vehicles and house were unprotected. Michael also tried to sell us new rollers for another $ 180.00 said no thanks. Then later he said he would just charge us for the rollers $ 75.00 and not the labor. No thanks. Guess he got a good commission out of this, don't know how someone can sleep at night taking advantage of people this way.

Yelp1I called this company because my garage door would not open. It would only beep when button pushed. When I called they said it was $49 service charge, not bad I'm thinking. when the tech arrived I told him what was happening he tried the opener and counted the beeps. He proceeded to tell me that the price to repair was $199.99 plus the service charge. He said it needed reset because it may have been struck by lightning or something. He said he could waive the service fee if I wanted him to fix it. Not knowing what to do i agreed. It literally took him two (2) minutes to reset the opener with no tools except a step latter. WOW he told me I could replace the whole motor and rail for $550. Guess I learned a valuable lesson, never call them again. Google would have fixed my problem for nothing except a little of my own time. I know they need to get paid for their services but $200 for two minutes of work is ridiculous! #donewiththem. This post states I live in California not true, ?This happened in Eureka Missouri. Neighborhood door company!

Yelp1Had a new opener installed with several issues. When the installer let me know he was done I went out to look at the new garage door opener and noticed the belt drive was twisted. I let the installer know and he made up an excuse that the belt was twisted because it was rolled up in the box and it will work itself out over time. He was in a hurry and left. After he left I looked it all over again and he did indeed have the belt twisted. Then I went to the wall switch control to open the door and it was very loose, I had to tighten the screws which he forgot to do. Then I noticed the rail was loose which he had connected to the old door opener bracket instead of using the new bracket from the new opener which was a different size. Then to top all that off he did not connect the wires correctly and two wires fell out of the connector. I called and let them know of all the problems and they did come out to correct it. Would not recommend this company.

Yelp2I knew I should have listened to the reviews...my bad. First, just so you know, included in the price is a nice charge for throwing your old one away. They don't show you or tell you that, just ask if you want them to throw it away for you and then charge you for it. I had a trash can right on the driveway. Three weeks after I got it it is not working, can't come out till sometime tomorrow. They gave me the number for tech support to Guardian. Very nice man helped me figure out that when they installed the eyes, they did not even tighten them so there is no straight line between eyes. Never took off the old ones from previous opener and improperly installed new ones. Just a shotie job!!! Next time I will listen to other Yelp reviewers!

Yelp1Neighborhood Garage Door is a ripoff!!! On April 10th, 2020 Mike, a snazzy dressed service technician showed up to repair my garage door that was off track. Mike took a look at the garage and quoted a price of $489 plus tax. He walked from his truck to obtain his tool box and stated he would get to work. Within 2 to 3 minutes he was headed back to his truck with his tool box stating the garage couldn't be fixed. I didn't understand the problem and inquired why. He stated the garage was leaning slightly and he nor anyone else could fix the garage door. Mike proceeded to charge me $51.04 for service fee!, Upon paying the service fee, which I didn't agree with I provided my email address to get a copy of the receipt emailed to me. It never came and Mike left. My 80 year old husband called the office and spoke to supervisor Stacy. She agreed to send another technician out the next day between 9:00A-12:00P. The technician Warren, arrived about 12:40P and stated he could repair the garage door, charging us another $50 service fee. After 1 hour and 10 minutes he stated this was his best and the total was $502.68 with the discount of $49.00 service fee I didn't realize $395.34 of the total was LABOR! This was a scam and the price is a bit steep. I don't recommend Neighborhood Garage Door unless you've got time to waist and money to burn!! Unfortunately, I can provide 1 star for Warren Signed blind sighted and disappointed in St. Louis, MO

Yelp1Worst experience ever! Micheal is a horrible rep with poor customer service. He talks down to the customer with a sarcastic tone because he is the "expert". I can't trust a company that hires people like this. I was quoted $460 then when I say I'm going to get more quotes, he calls the "manager" and all of a sudden a $70 discount is available...I WILL PASS...My garage was working just fine before Michael starting poking on it then it got stuck and wouldn't close...I did more research and they also go by St. Louis Garage Door Experts...they both are a SCAM...also they have a D Better Business Bureau rating....BEWARE OF THIS SCAMMER

Yelp1Just like everyone else they're telling me $130 to replace the two side cables, we OK the repair and it jumps to the $500 with labor. I'll be calling the BBB on this one, way too may reviews with the same complaints, oh and this is the second time they've been out in 6 months.
