Yelp1They installed everything in view. They didn't pull the wire inside the wall like the previous garage door feed. This was lazy work and extremely disappointing. I work in low voltage and this isn't acceptable with a drywall ceiling with 100% above ceiling access.

Yelp3This review will seem a little strange, in the end I m very pleased with the new garage door, opener, key pad, remotes for our carriage house. Getting there, however, is a different story. The garage door was banged up, it is the entrance to a workshop and after 30 years showed it. So, I contacted Overhead Door in Manassas, VA (the central location is in MD), I told the residential manager the opening for the door was 97 1/2 high and 107 1/2 wide and that the current door was 98' high and 108" wide. Two technicians came out a few days later to measure the door and look at the positioning for the electric opener. They left with the measurements, I received an email asking if I wanted an insulated or uninsulated, do I want windows or not. I replied this is an unheated workshop, I don't want an insulated door, nor do I want windows. The door was ordered. A few weeks later I got a call that the door arrived and we scheduled a day for installation. The installer came, very professional, he is the best thing about Overhead Door. He began installing the door and when he put the last panel in realized the door was too short, there was a 1 1/2" gap at the top of the door, he rang the bell I went out to look, he measured the door and said the wrong door was shipped or the wrong order was sent. In any event, I asked how long it would take to fix the problem, he called the HQ, the answer was a week to 10 days, my concern then switched to the security system, the installer figured out how we could activate the security system with the gap at the top. So, about 10 days later I got a call telling me the new door panel for the top arrived and when could Overhead's tech come to replace the panel, a day or two later the tech arrived installed the new panel, and hooked up the security system to the door, door looks and works great. Then it came time to pay the tech the remainder of the balance due for the door, opener, installation. The tech presented a bill that was about $500 greater than the quote. I said there must be a mistake, he then called the HQ, who told him that was the correct amount, I then was put on the phone with he person I ordered the door from...he said the additional cost was because I requested an upgraded insulated door, I referred him to my email..."uninsulated door"...his response ok, we'll order an uninsulated door, when it comes in send the tech out with the new door, uninstall the insulated door and replace it with the uninsulated door, I said ok. The tech apologized and left. A few days later I got a call from billing who said I only had to pay the original amount and that they would not becoming to remove the insulated door. In the final analysis I'm pleased with the door, the tech was is the highlight of the company.

Yelp5We're so impressed with Virginia Overhead Door. They promptly came the same day in the promised time frame and even called on the way! The technician, Terrence, was as personable as he was professional. He immediately diagnosed the problem and quickly fixed it!

Yelp5Very pleased with the service I received from Overhead Door. Note that the "poor" Yelp reviews of this company are from many years ago, whereas the more recent reviews are much better. The technician called when he was on his way and showed up promptly thereafter. He was able to determine the problem with the door after an evaluation and repair it so that it is now functioning excellently. There was never any mention of purchasing a new door or system. When the time eventually comes for that, I will definitely be contacting this company again. Thanks for a great job!

Yelp5I called late afternoon to request a garage door repair. The technician was able to Vons out right away. Once here he anslyzed the problem. Unfortunately my door was no longer manufactured. He helped me find a repair part on line. He also discussed the possibility of replacing my door. Finally he discovered that my garage door tracks were in bad shape. He repaired them thankfully.

Yelp5I called Overhead Door Company on a Monday and they were able to send a technician out Tuesday morning. The technician arrived well within the window of time he said he would arrive and called about 30 minutes prior to arriving. He was very professional and repaired not only the major issue, but took the time to diagnose and fix other issues that would have been harmful to our garage door system over time. I recommend this company.

Yelp3On the positive side, the guy who came to work on our garage door was very nice and very competent in the work he did -- 5 stars for him! The negative is that we had had a keypad installed outside the garage three years ago to get into the house without a key. The keypad died recently. Only 3 years old! Two people from the company weren't surprised at all. I can't believe that a product that only lasts 3 years costs $200-$300. Outrageously poor quality product.

Yelp5Called at 4 pm, scheduled for evening after 5, called back to say more like 6:30 & tech called at 5:45 said would be here by 6:30 & he was. Complete work well and was quite polite. Great job - very satisfied.
