TorqueMaster springs, made by Wayne Dalton, are good springs for typical residential use, despite their reputation among some installers. They live inside an enclosed steel tube above the door, which makes them safer than exposed torsion springs because if they break, the broken pieces stay contained inside the tube rather than flying around the garage. Lifespan is comparable to standard torsion springs, around 10,000 to 15,000 cycles, or roughly 7 to 9 years for an average household. The downsides are that replacement parts are proprietary to Wayne Dalton, the cables and drums inside are lighter duty than a standard torsion setup, and only certain installers carry the parts. For heavy or oversized doors, a converted standard torsion system is the better long-term choice.
