Yes, in many situations you can straighten a garage door yourself, depending on what is bent. Light dents in a steel panel can be tapped out with a rubber mallet and a wood block from the inside. A panel that is bowing in the middle can usually be corrected by installing a horizontal reinforcement strut across the back of the panel, which pulls it flat and adds stiffness so it does not bend again. A door that is sagging or no longer level is fixed by adjusting spring tension and checking that the rollers, hinges, and tracks are square. Tracks that are bent should be replaced rather than rebent, since bent tracks bind the rollers and put extra strain on the opener.
