How long do TorqueMaster springs last?

TorqueMaster springs typically last 10,000 to 15,000 cycles, which translates to about 7 to 9 years for an average household using the door three to four times a day. That is comparable to or slightly longer than a standard torsion spring. Wayne Dalton also offers a TorqueMaster Plus version with heavier-duty springs that can reach 20,000 cycles, or roughly 12 years of normal use. Several factors shorten lifespan: heavy daily use, oversized or improperly balanced doors, and skipped maintenance like lubricating the cables and drums. The springs are sealed inside an enclosed shaft tube, which protects them from rust and dust but also means you cannot visually inspect them. Most owners only learn a spring has failed when the door suddenly becomes too heavy to lift.
