How to get both garage door sensors green?

On most garage door openers, both sensors are not supposed to be green. On LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman systems, the sender sensor lights amber or orange and the receiver sensor lights solid green. Both being green is normal only on Genie systems. If you have a LiftMaster or Chamberlain and are trying to make both green, you cannot, the amber light is the correct color for the sender. If your green receiver is off or blinking, that is the actual problem. Loosen the wing nut on the receiver, point both lenses directly at each other across the door opening, and adjust until the green LED is steady. Then wipe both lenses, clear obstructions, and check that wires are not loose or damaged.
