Google2I should have done my research and shopped around more. The good news is that Magic replaced my spring and torsion bar in a day. The bad news is that they overcharged me a LOT. Tony was sure that the internal spring was broken. (It was not ). He said it would cost $1000 to replace the torsion rod and spring. I questioned the price and he said the parts alone were $800. I trusted him and agreed to the service. When he showed up with the parts I realized I had been had. (See the photo.) I checked prices and found that Home Depot carries the springs for $60, and 8' torsion rods (not at the Depot) go for $100. Ouch. The replacement took them about 7 hours because the techs did not have the right tools. They had to leave for more parts and tools twice, and I had to lend them some of my own tools. They didn't even have a Philips screwdriver in their bag. The door works better now, but if I had to do it over I would not have chosen Magic.

Google5I'm relieved that I was able to locate this company online and get my garage door's broken springs replaced. The person was incredibly helpful and took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly. They came out and replaced the old springs with new ones, and ever since then, it has functioned without a hitch. Because of their competence, knowledge, and helpfulness, I am quite grateful.
