Google5Can't recommend this company enough. They have installed two or three garage doors for me and I was extremely happy with the quality, price and workmanship. Today I accidentally backed into my garage door and because of the damage I could not leave. They were out at my house within 45 minutes and repaired the garage door 3 hours later. At least three phone calls telling me that they were coming and how they were going to repair it. Very impressive in the effort they take to make sure that the customer is satisfied and up to date with what's going on. Reasonable prices, good quality, very fast to respond, excellent communication skills and great workmanship. What else can you ask for.

Google5Excellent communication and service! My garage spring broke and someone was out the next day to get it fixed. Everything works perfectly and I highly recommend J.D. Griffith for your garage needs!

Google4I was 90 per cent satisfied. Thank you. A few minor attention to details could have made it 110 per cent. ______________________________________________________ 1. The two side boards that were nailed to correct the square are a problem. 2. a. The nail holes need to be filled because the nails went too deep into the board. 3. b. From inside the garage..I can still see right through the door cracks… letting me know I am going to have a lot of cold air in the basement this winter. (It would have been easy to put a bead of calking prior to nailing the boards on) 5. The electrical connection is "not finished, as I expected it would. A. The workers used one of my extension cords which was too long. I would expect that a correct size extension cord could have been provided. Additionally, I was told by one of the workmen that according to the motor manual … it should be directly connected to an electrical box. I had not been told this. 6. Ken said the military discount was $150. The workman collecting said; company policy was $100. 7. The old control box was not removed.

Google3Mixed Bag Review - Good Build Quality, Poor Communication Construction Process and Quality - 4/5. The garage is very solidly built and high-quality materials were used, very happy with the build itself. A change order and cost increase resulted from the excavation of the old garage being deeper than scoped, otherwise no real complaints outside of some cosmetic items. Client Service and Communication - 2/5. Initial contact and quote all were very quick, were told it would be a few months to schedule and we got on the books with a deposit. Great contact leading up to construction, and even got started a month early, fantastic. Teardown crew and concrete workers provided early reach-outs to notify us of upcoming work. After that, crews would show up to work without any heads up, not a big deal overall but it seemed that nobody was quite sure what exact schedules looked like. Overall, teardown to getting the garage erected went smoothly despite a relative lack of communication. Following the build, several large pallets and leftover masonry and carpentry materials were left in our yard and driveway, and were ultimately only partially picked up. It took several calls and emails to have someone come pick up the remainder of the materials, and they were after about six weeks overall. After that point, we did not receive any follow-up on having the garage door and electrical installed. A worker showed up to install the garage door one day but didn't know there was no electrical, and the carpenters didn't frame something correctly that prevented any work to begin with. I had to call our salesperson to get these items scheduled, who was under the impression that work had already been completed when it had not. Following the call, the work was done eventually and was performed well. Two months later and nearly four months in total, we are still waiting for them to fulfill the remainder of the contract in filling in the areas excavated for the foundation and adding a concrete pad to finish the job. I have been reaching out regularly and get told that they are aware and working on it, and end up receiving little to no follow-up communication until the next time I call them. Definitely feels like since most of our job has been done already that we have become next to zero priority on their schedule to get things finished. There is still a 1-2' deep pit around our garage and we are using leftover cinderblocks from the build as a temporary door pad. Aside from looking terrible, it is also preventing us from properly reinstalling the fence that was taken down for construction. Hopefully this is entirely circumstantial, but at the end of the day I shouldn't be hounding a company to get a contract finished and get paid in full, especially not for two months. Their build quality is great but I am really unhappy with customer service and communications overall. Update - All work was resolved after staying in constant contact with them over a period of a few weeks. Revised my rating due to the attention and courtesy paid by the company reps once prioritized, but still unhappy with being left in limbo for so long, nearly two months after the bulk of the work was completed.

Google4Timeline of project: We signed our contract 4/18. They said it would be in June that they would be able to get started on the project. They started the excavation 6/2 and said the concrete guys are about a week out. 6/26 the forms were set and the final grading was done. 7/6 concrete was poured. From 7/12 to 7/25 the carpentry, siding, trim, roof, gutters, doors, and electrical was all completed. Pros: They were easy to work with. Jerry made sure what we wanted, was what happened. At no point did I feel forced into something and nothing felt rushed. Cons: - There are random nails in the plywood between studs. Not a ton but enough to take notice. I can understand glancing of a stud but this is 8" away from the studs. -The 24 days between digging a hole and starting on the concrete was a bit unfortunate but was nothing compared to the final grade up to the overhead door. -It took two months (7/25 when electrical was completed until 9/20 when I paid the final bill) for the packed gravel and spilled concrete leading up to the overhead door to be removed and clean fill to be placed there. From the start, I expressed what I wanted was just grass up to the garage. No concrete, gravel, or asphalt path. Just grass. With that in place (you can see from the picture) that would not be possible due to the grade. I attempted to call the office (ext 128) multiple times over a few weeks to inform them the final inspection was complete but this needed to be addressed and I reached no one. I was able to contact the project manager who said a crew would be out to fix this. There was miscommunication between him and his crew since a few weeks after that call he was under the impression that this was already resolved. Soon after another conversation it was. Overall: I'd go with them again. Construction is good. They cleaned up well. Other companies were similarly priced but did not do as well during the sales pitch.

Google1Made a call to get an estimate and was told our city wouldn't allow a 2 car detached. Called the city to confirm and was told we could. The rep I spoke with didn't seem interested in the work and will now check with other builders.

Google3Garage was completed in December of 2024. My issue with the company is lack of follow through with permits. The electrical inspection failed and I am the one calling to stay on top of the issue. I don't understand why JD Griffiths is not stating on top of the problem. Ground has been thawed enough for 2 weeks+ for Pieper Power to dig sight holes and no communication about when the work will begin. All I ask for is communication.

Google1We had a new garage built over 10 yrs ago and they never applied drip edges and now I have to replace garage doors and rotting wood because I was never aware that those were supposed to be included I know it's been a long time ago but wanted to let's others know what is supposed to be done on a new garage roof.

Google5I’ve used JD Griffith for more than 25 yrs at multiple properties. They are the only company I trust. Ken, the associate that is handling my current project, is awesome too. I highly recommend this company.
