Big shoutout to People’s Gas. Nothing says “community service” quite like shutting off the gas to an entire residential building in the middle of winter because you couldn’t access the meter room for one individual account. Apparently, if you can’t reach one meter, the logical solution is to turn off the main heating source for everyone. Problem solved. Just to recap: multiple families, small children, and elderly residents without heat — all to make absolutely sure one person (who, by the way, may not even live here anymore) didn’t receive a single molecule of unpaid gas. Efficiency. Compassion. Strategic precision. Thank you for showing us exactly what kind of company you are.

If I could give them a negative 5 star I would. These people allowed someone to apply online and open an account under my name November 2021 till July 2024. They allowed this person to build a bill of 5227$ before deciding to shut this off!!!! Then have the audacity to tell me I have to submit my drivers license, bank statement and utility bill to prove I am who I say I am! I have never lived in Chicago let alone visited any part of Illinois! I will be contacting the better business bureau along side filing the police report. LADA Carter thank you for putting your email on this fraudulent account these people allowed you to open and utilize for 3 years!

Worst company ever. Shouldn’t be called people’s gas. They shut off my gas even tho I paid the bill and now I have been waiting a month for them to turn on my gas again. Because they have rescheduled my appointments The rep on the call wasn’t even from this country. It’s very obvious they are sourcing their customer service reps in other countries for cheaper wages. While they spike our gas prices This company is robbing society. It is illegal for the state of Illinois for places to be under 65 but they don’t care about that It’s about to be 20 some degrees this weekend and they just called to reschedule me again for about ten days from now. If you have any power to change gas companies please save yourself from this headache

Zanthoni was an amazing help , I definitely recommend him he was very informative and knowledgeable we’ve had two prior techs come out but once he came out he made everything correct !and out in the orders that needed to be done to fix our unit ! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING ! definitely need more passionate people like him !

Very unprofessional to demand a meter change and send threatening letters, to only provide a 3 day window between the hours of 7-4 M-F when everyone works. You cant even push it out a week. Rude customer service

Absolutely awful customer service. Called to schedule a gas inspection because my landlord can't hire someone to take care of our building who is competent and professional. Turns out that an inspection had already been scheduled. Rather than politely say, " Sir an inspection has been scheduled, and it cannot be modified. The woman wants to argue with me about what she can and can't do." I am sure nothing will come of this review because this is a utlility company and you have to get your natural gas from somewhere, but if at all possible avoid People's Gas as though they are the plague!
