I have now hired Nick to do some major inside remodeling (window replacements, hard wood floors, and kitchen tile) and expect the same work standards for these jobs. Services Rendered: I retained Nick's company since I needed a generalist handyman to build a new two story deck, replace a garage door, remove mold from the walls and ceiling of the garage, eliminate a water accumulation problem in the garage and repair the switch cords on several ceiling lights in the house. So I had multiple jobs and wanted to deal with just one firm. This was not for my home but for my daughter's in the Andora section of Philadelphia. I reached out to Nick based on consistently good ratings on Angie's List for different types of repair and remodeling jobs that he had completed. Once I talked with him and his father, who works with him, and received a quote for rebuilding the deck, I decided to hire him for all of the jobs above since the quote for the deck was actually a bit lower than several I had already received and it included the use of synthetic materials rather than just weather proofed wood. I was also impressed with his suggestion that the mold in the garage wall board could be "superficial" and not throughout the wallboard and if that's what they found they would merely have to kill the mold topically without having to replace the wallboard. This is in fact what they found to be the case which saved a lot of money. . In summary I have been very happy with Nick's work and the way he does business in general. Although he is still relatively young, he has worked with both his grandfather and father on home building and remodeling for quite some time and his experience shows in the way he approaches tasks and in the quality of his work. I found him to be quite responsive to me throughout the process and he completed his work on time and on budget. There was one issue that came up with the light repairs. I did not like what he attempted to do to replace the switches the first time through and he agreed, improvised, and came up with a good solution. He also decided not to charge me for this task (it was a small charge) since I was not happy with his original work.
