Great experience with 31W. They came out and measured all the windows, and had to order all the blinds. It took about 2 weeks for the blinds to arrive and be installed. Installation was very fast - about an hour for all the blinds to be installed. Reason for B in professionalism - The only thing I would ask is for the person installing the blinds to clean up the dust that inevitably falls on the floor and window sills. Services Rendered: Installed high-quality blinds throughout our 2,800 sq. ft. home.

This company got a B rating from me only because the office/admin/managerial part of the business appeared overly casual in getting their part of things done; the job took a lot more time than it should have, and it was not the fault of the installer who came to my home and did the actual work. The field rep I spoke with at the beginning, who came by and looked at the old door and gave the estimate for the new one (with opener) placed the order on Feb 6th. He was very specific over the phone with me about what he had ordered; I wrote it all down and looked it all up online. He also told me it would be and quot;about 2 weeksand quot; for the door to be delivered to 31W's shop. Four weeks later, on March 5th, I got a call from the field rep; the door was in but -- the wagon wheel window inserts hadn't come in yet. Did I want to proceed? This was on a Tuesday; he expected the inserts that Friday (March 8th). When I gave my okay, I also recapped what the order was, so I should describe it now: He had told me he ordered a Stratford Model 2000 steel door from the Amarr Garage Door Company, along with a Marantec m-4500e Door Opener. I looked up both items online as I said, so I knew what I was supposed to be getting. One interesting aspect of the Model 2000 door was that it was insulated. When I recapped the order over the phone, I specifically said Stratford Model 2000 insulated door, and he said that's what's been delivered. So a couple of hours later, the Installer (I only got his first name: Jack) came to my home with the goods and started what turned out to be an A-one super professional job; let me establish that right up front: Jack did excellent work, quickly and efficiently. He knows his business inside and out; the 31-W company is lucky to have him. But back to the door. While Jack was dismantling the old door we were just having casual conversation, and I happened to mention that I'd never had a garage door that was insulated before, and that it would probably be nice to have since the door faces North. Jack replied that I didn't have an insulated door now, either; he had a Stratford door out in his truck all right, but it was plain-jane steel, no insulation. Work stopped while he called the field rep who soon verified what I already knew from having downloaded Amarr's Stratford model lineup back when 31-W first placed the order in February: They hadn't ordered a model 2000 at all, but a model 1000, identical except it's uninsulated. Of course the Bill was for a model 2000. The field rep knocked a hundred dollars off immediately, and on a hunch I said okay and work continued. Later, after Jack finished up and left, I called the Amarr company, explaining what happened and the action taken, and was told that the price difference between the 2 models was in fact and quot;around a hundred dollarsand quot; (their quotes), so that worked out okay but 31-W didn't score any points for it, either. The door installation was absolutely superb! I could not be happier. The opener operates quietly and smooth as silk. I may have had a little flak on the admin side (and I'm not through with them yet, as the next paragraph will tell) but operations went off and quot;fine and wonderfuland quot;. As previously mentioned, my (wrong) door was delivered without the inserts for the windows, the ones that were expected no later than Friday the 8th of March. On March 18th, I called 31-W to ask the field rep what's up; The office lady switched me to his voice mail. I left a message but he didn't call back. The following day I called again; still couldn't reach the field rep, but I did get to speak to the Manager, who said he was sorry for the delay, but he expected the inserts by this Friday (the 22nd). He would give me a call when they got in. 2 weeks later, on April 2nd (a Tuesday, in fact) I called and asked to speak with the Manager; the office lady said he was busy but that she had my name and number (and quot;right here on my deskand quot;) with a note to call me just as soon as those window inserts get here, in fact they expected them (you guessed it!) this Friday (April 5th). I didn't see any point in pressing the issue, so I just continued to wait to hear from them. I never did get a phone call from anyone at 31-W, but on April 16th (a Tuesday), Jack appeared at my door, wagon wheel window inserts in hand. 2 minutes later, the job was finally complete almost two-and-a-half months after I first agreed to have 31-W order and install a door for me. I suppose a case could be made that 31-W had a supplier problem, since they had to wait on Amarr to deliver the inserts to them, but 31-W seemed content to just wait all those weeks, without a word to me even though I was obviously concerned enough to call, and reasonable enough to both remain cordial and wait at least 2 weeks between calls; they just never followed through. And of course there's no excuse at all for ordering the wrong door. They should have caught that as soon as it was delivered to them, after which they would have (I hope) called me about it. I didn't care if the door was insulated or not, that was never an issue. They told me what I was supposed to be getting, and what it cost. If I hadn't caught it myself, I would have paid extra for nothing. That ticked me off. But as far as the work performed, and quality of the merchandise ordered, Top Drawer, no question. And I'd do it again (without the admin snafus). Services Rendered: 31-W company ordered a new garage door and opener from the manufacturer(s); upon delivery to 31-W's shop, their installer came out to my home and after removing the old door, installed the new one along with the opener. The installer took the old door along with him for proper disposal (it was 20 years old).

I called 31W Insulation on a Friday afternoon and the was told that Scott was the one that handled all the garage door installation and repairs. Since Scott had 25 years experience and knew his job well, he was the only one that handled garage doors and he was booked until tuesday. I told the gentleman I was speaking with that I worked from home and they could just come anytime and to just call before they came. Monday morning Scott left a msg on my voice mail saying he would be able to come out in an hour. I was not able to answer the call when he called and listened to my voicemail as they were pulling into the driveway. Scott and Jack went right to work and showed me where the door had been hitting the door frame and had even gouged my vinyl siding and scraped the paint off the inside of the frame when it opened and closed causing the door to come off track. Scott explained that the wieght of the heavy steel door hanging lopsided had bent the track and braces in the process. Scott and Jack took the door completely off and replaced a piece of the track that was bent, put in new screws where incorrect, flimsy screws were used in the past, fixed the braces on the ceiling and on the frame, put the door back on and adjusted it so it would not hit the frame or vinyl siding. Scott noticed that the vinyl around the top of the frame was sticking out too far towards the garage door and not tightly wrapped around the top of the wood door frame so the door would hit it when it opened and closed. He reattached the vinyl properly so it was tight and adjusted the door so it would not hit the frame when it opened and closed. They also reattached the vinyl that wrapped the door frame that the door had pulled off when it opened and closed. They tested the door and showed me how it opened and closed and asked if it was better. I was thrilled, my door has never opened and closed so smoothly and quietly the whole 10 years we have lived in this house! I even had another company come out 5 yrs ago and complete work on it and it opened and closed a little jerky after they were done! Scott and Jack's work was much superior! After Scott and Jack finished their work, I remembered that I had a key pad for opening and closing the door from the outside that was with the house when we bought it 10 years ago. I had never been able to use it b/c I didn't know the previous owners code. Scott showed me how to reset the code and then reset it for me. Jack then attached it to my door frame and tested it. I now have a working key pad! Scott and Jack make a great team and they know their work well and pay attention to detail. If you call 31W that is who will do the repairs, not some inexperienced team. Scott and Jack are both friendly and even stood around and chatted with me after the job was done and gave me some tips on how to handle my gopher problem too! I would definitely recommend Scott and Jack with 31 W Insulation in Clarksville. Services Rendered: I have a 1980s era very heavy steel Stanley garage door for a 2 car garage. It had come off the track in several places and was hanging lopsided and we couldn't get it up or down. The track was bent in serveral places, screws were missing and the braces attached to the ceiling were bent. The door had even pulled off some of the wrapped vinyl around the garage door. It was a mess! Scott & Jack took the door completely off and replaced a piece of the track that was bent, put in new screws where the incorrect, flimsy screws were used in the past, fixed the braces on the ceiling and on the door jamb, put the door back on and adjusted it so it would not hit the frame or vinyl siding. They reattached my vinyl around the frame and attached my key pad to the door frame and reset the code.

Mainly positive experience Services Rendered: Needed a coil replaced. They came out quickly and replaced it. I thought the price was higher than it should have been but sometimes you have to pay for quick response time.
