Google5UPDATE: O'Brien responded to my complaints and has made things right. They are refunding the costs of the springs to us, and gave us an extended warranty on them for the trouble. They have additionally let us know that they have scheduled a meeting with their staff to ensure that everyone knows how to handle this situation should it arise with any other customers. We are pleased to see the speed with which they have worked to address a frustrating situation for us and their dedication to ensuring it does not happen in the future. Original 1 star review: The springs on our garage door broke. We had a copy of the Lifetime Guarantee information on our garage door that was installed by O'Brien from our home's previous owners, so I called to get it fixed. They found our home in their system (under prior owner's name), updated to our information and sent a tech out the next day (the only good thing they did). While I noted in the fine print that the lifetime guarantee only covered parts and not labor, so I expected to pay labor costs, when the tech arrived and inspected everything, he told us that they were not able to honor the lifetime guarantee and that we would have to pay for the new springs in addition to the labor. We were not able to get a straight answer as to why this was the case - we were told there was new ownership and they didn't accept the guarantees, that their records show only the motor was covered and not the springs (the guarantee certificate very explicitly states that 2 high lifecycle springs are covered), that maybe the install was done by someone else using their name (even though they told us they had records covering the motor). They offered us a discounted rate on the springs, but I am very disappointed that they are using such shady practices. I will not be using their services for our garage door ever again, and recommend everyone stay away.

Google5I called and they came out the next day apologizing that same day wasn't available. This wasn't critical as my garage door was operational. Daniel was great explaining how the rollers can affect the door's operation. Professional approach and quick to repair. Not the first time that I've depended on them and they did not disappoint.

Google5I had a great experience with O'Brian Garage Doors! They came out quickly to fix the bracket holding my tension spring, and the technician was professional and efficient. The communication throughout the process was excellent—they kept me informed every step of the way. The service was top-notch, and the price was very fair. I’m really happy with the work they did and would highly recommend O'Brian Garage Doors to anyone needing garage door repairs!

Google1Warning to anyone who reaches out to this company. Called O’Brien to come look at our garage door when it stopped working. Person came out looked at it very quickly, said I needed an entire new unit and quoted me $1000. I declined and called another company to get a second quote and come to find out there was nothing broken with our opener, just a setting that needed to be reset. The person literally fixed the problem in 2 seconds. Disgusted is an understatement when it comes to this company. Do not recommend at all.

Google5From the woman who answered the phone (Maureen who had such a good sense of humor- it’s good to laugh early in the morning) to the technician this company is the best!! Travis and his brother Trevor were the nicest and most professional young men. Travis answered any questions I had and called me when they had the motor down so I could see the condition of it. Will definitely use O’Brien again.

Yelp1If there were 0 stars, I'd give them this. We had storm damage in our garage and our roofer hired O'Brien to come out and put up a new garage door opener. Contracted for Monday, and at the last minute, they called my roofer to say they couldn't make it. Rescheduled for today, Wednesday, Sept. 27th, and wouldn't you know it, once again calling to cancel at the last minute, "promising" my roofer they'd be there tomorrow, Thursday, 9/28. But I doubt it because they promised us to be on time for 2 days this week and haven't shown up there yet. Find another installer. Can't trust these guys.

Yelp5Had a torsion spring snap! Called on a Holiday weekend Saturday and Tim was at my house within an hour! Fast, friendly service. Tim was extremely competent and courteous. Had all the parts on the truck and had my garage door fixed in less than 30 minutes. Plus they had a 20% off service call online. Amazing company with amazing results.
