The guy that's works there is no good. Terrible attitude and thinks somebody's scared of him. He wouldn't let me grab my mother's car cause she wasn't present. Mind you, he told her on the phone it was ok for me to grab it then switched up and said he never said that but he did. Even when I had the cash and her on the phone he still acted up. Don't do business with this man.

Used their services today. They were prompt and professional. Didn't need a tow. New battery. They jumped my car and sent me on my way. Thanks Devin.

I hope these men never have a mother, sister or daughter have an accident 6 hours from home. Would not recommend.

My truck was towed to their storage lot after an accident and they had the keys. When I went to get my belongings a few days later I immediately noticed fishing gear missing from the bed. I asked where my possessions were and they exclaimed they do not touch possessions or enter the vehicle - Today I was going through my box of items i removed from the truck and discovered they also stole the 6AH 20V batteries off my power tools. Left the tools but the batteries are gone. Missing several hundred dollars worth of my belongings.....absolutely insane.

October 2025 - ACE Towing of Galveston – Beware of Hidden Fees and Dishonest Practices This company takes advantage of people during stressful situations. My husband was in an accident on September 29, 2025, and the next day we called to find out where the vehicle had been towed. Texas City PD informed us it was at ACE Towing of Galveston. When I first called, I spoke with John, who answered the phone unprofessionally and was difficult to understand, like he had marbles in his mouth. He told me storage was $22.85 plus tax per day. The next day, when I called back, I was told the tow fee was $150, when it was all said & done it was almost $500.00 for 4 days of storage. There is the daily storage charge of $22.85 and tax, a $35 “scene cleanup” fee, and later a $50 “notification letter” fee — just to send a letter. Light Dute Fee & a 2nd Tow fee. RIP OFF! Each of these charges was revealed gradually, not explained up front. It felt deliberately misleading. We told John we planned to have AAA pick up the vehicle since we pay for that service. A friend warned us that ACE often gives other tow companies a hard time, requiring unnecessary paperwork and permissions. Based on that advice, we decided to have ACE tow the vehicle directly to our home — which is less than 10 minutes from their yard — just to avoid the hassle. In the end, we paid $100 to have it towed home, and for less than four days of storage, the total came to $468. Nearly $500 for a short stay and a stack of questionable add-on fees. Their business practices appear predatory, deceptive, and unprofessional. If you ever have to deal with them, get every fee in writing upfront—otherwise, you’ll likely be blindsided later. Advice: If you’re ever in a wreck, contact the tow company immediately. The fees and charges will just keep adding up! When the tow truck driver dropped off our vehicle, he was bragging about how many cars they had sitting on the lot. It’s easy to see why — many people probably can’t afford the outrageous fees and end up leaving their vehicles behind. Bottom line: avoid this company if you can.

We had a flat tire and a cruise ship to catch in an hour. Riley Auto Parts called Manuel from Ace of GALVESTON Wrecker Service. Manuel showed up within minutes and assured us he would get us to the repair shop, get our tire fixed and we would be back on our way to catch the cruise in time to enjoy our week. He took us to the closest mechanic’s shop. While we were there and he was dropping off the vehicle, we all noticed there was an irate customer threatening the mechanic with a gun in his waistband. The staff at the repair shop had us go inside and locked us in. Meanwhile, Manuel decided he didn’t like the situation and put our vehicle back on his wrecker which was feet from the irate customer with the gun and came to the door of the shop to escort us back to his truck. He said very politely and with concern “get in the truck, we are leaving”. We hopped in and off we went. Manuel said “ I am not going to leave you in that situation. I told you I would take care of y’all and that is what I am going to do.” Manuel went above and beyond. We can’t thank him enough for his courage and concern. He made an incredibly stressful situation more than bearable. Thank you again Manuel! To say you are the best is an understatement.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It is absolutely abysmal. I witnessed grown men cussing women out in front of children. Despite multiple inquiries to speak to a manager, I was brushed off and told that they were not on the premise. After asking for the man’s name who was extremely provocative, I was hung up on and completely dismissed. I have never experienced such terrible service.

Unscrupulous management. They will tow your car from a parking lot in a heartbeat and charge you upwards of $300 for a less than 1 mile tow. Exploitative and unprofessional! The city should reconsider their contract as they abuse citizens and visitors. Not good for Galveston’s economy.

After they "fixed" my garage door and left, I found the door would not close all the way. I called them back and they have been avoiding my phone calls all week! We overpaid them and still cannot use the garage door! It's a new owner of the company. We've used them under the previous owner and were happy. Such a shame.

Ace Door did a number of things I love...1. They asnwered their phone the first time I called. 2. They made an appointment for a day and time that was perfect for me. 3. They posed simple affordable options. 4. They showed up when promised 4. They did the job and went the extra mile and didnt try to upcharge me later. Absolutely everything I look for in a contractor. Loved them!

Ace lubricated and adjusted my garage door and opener. Less than two weeks later, the door stopped opening all the way part of the time. Finally it stopped going up or down altogether. I called them back out and they fixed it, but they charged me for another service call. I don't do business with people who don't stand behind their work. As I told Ace, I won't be using this company again.

They were helpful on the phone, called before they got to my house, showed up on time, got to work right away, explained what was wrong, gave me clear choices about what work to do, and charged a fair price. I'm happy.

I have had him out twice for my garage door; once he cleaned the opener and the second time he replaced springs. He is the only one I will call. Services Rendered: I thought I needed a new garage door opener but he cleaned mine so it worked good as new. Very reasonable in price.

It went excellent. They were quick, affordable, and gave great service. I would highly recommend them for anyone needing garage door work in the Alvin area. I have previously used one of their competitors and my experience was significantly worse. Services Rendered: Garage door repair

Excellent. The owner answered my phone call around 9:30am. He came to the house at 11:30am and repaired both doors by 12:30pm. He had the replacement parts & tools with him. Very pleasant to talk with and very experienced in his work. Very happy with the service. Services Rendered: Garage door opener motor failed on one door. Belt broke on other garage door.

The garage door opener just stopped working. I went to Angie's list to look up good service providers in the area and found Ace Door Service. I called the number given and explained the problem to Dan Sargee, the owner, who agreed to come out the next morning. He came out when he said he would, brought a replacement circuit board and installed it in 30 minutes. Problem solved. Thanks, Dan! Services Rendered: Garage Door Opener Repair

We were just leaving for a weekend trip when our garage door opener failed. Unfortunately, we would not be back in town to contact a repair man until Monday. After some research, we found Ace Door Service within 7 miles of our house, with excellent reviews. I contacted Dan Sargee, the owner and we agreed on a price. The next day, Tuesday, Dan came, by himself, ready to get to work. He brought an even better model Liftmaster garage door opener than we had discussed at no increase in price. All of the work was done efficiently, methodically, and professionally. I had been cautious about using a chain drive unit, but the result was nothing but a smoothly and quietly operating garage door opener. Included were 2 remotes + an indoor button. The outside keypad was extra, but very reasonably priced. Dan also adjusted the spring, noting that the door was a little heavy. When all was said and done, I was left with a quiet and efficient garage door opener, certain that it would provide reliable, long-lasting service, being made of metal, rather than plastic parts. If you want someone who believes in good quality work at a fair price, call Dan. Services Rendered: Replaced garage door opener with 1/2 hp chain drive Liftmaster system.

Mr. Sargee replaced was very nice and personable, he arrived on time, had all the parts and did the work in a timely manner. He even corrected an error (a backward part) on the door opener from when it was installed last summer and it runs so much smoother now. I will have him back in a few months to do the same thing for the other side. Services Rendered: One of the cables snapped and the spring fell off. He replaced the broken and other rusted parts.
