I do not typically post reviews, but I feel like this is appropriate. We, as a General Contractor in Knoxville, have done business with Williams Door Company many times over the years, and I am very disappointed with the way they handled a recent project. We ordered two custom Mahogany garage doors for a project and a smaller side door which was metal. We paid $32,631. We were not told that the motors for the openers were going to be different from the typical opener system and wired the garage for the standard opener; no electrical diagram was, or ever has been, given. When the doors were installed, we had to cut sheetrock and fix the unprofessional (and unsightly) wiring, and the installers damaged custom trim around the doors, which also had to be replaced. We did so without complaint. Also, the doors were not installed with all of the hinges required and light kits were not installed. We called and asked for the issues to be resolved. After several weeks, these items were eventually corrected. Again, we did not complain. One of the garage door motors failed, and we requested a service call. After several weeks (again), the technician came to assess and then came back at a later date to install the new motor. At that time, the installer informed us that he had never worked on that type of motor before, and he was learning, as well. The client/homeowner asked the technician to assist in programming the remote-control devices and he took a few minutes to help. He then told the homeowner to call the office and provide a credit card to pay for the service call to program said remotes, without prior advice of this charge. The client called me and I told her that I would talk to the company, but would pay the service charge myself ($32k for doors and we're being charged a $180 fee to program remotes that should have already been done). I spoke to an employee at Willimas Door and told them of the issues with the project and that I was surprised that they would charge a service fee and that if they insisted on charging the fee, I was not going to ask the client to pay it. I was told that the owner of Williams Door insisted I be billed for the service charge which included a fuel surcharge even through the technician was already onsite numerous times. I received the invoice today and am sending payment, as promised. I believe other contractors and consumers should know this story so they can consider our experience before working with this company.

The spring on my garage door broke. I called Williams Door Company and Britney answered the phone. She was so kind and professional and scheduled an appointment to get out to replace the spring promptly. She quoted a price over the phone so I knew what to expect. Daniel was the technician that replaced the spring. Daniel was very kind and professional. He completed the job and tightened the chain on both of my garage doors. The price Daniel charged was exactly what Britney quoted. No surprises! Williams has a customer for life. Thank you for your honesty, kindness and quality work!

After having a garage door spring break last night, I filled out the contact form. I received a call from the Williams team early this AM and provided details. Britney worked with me and was able to schedule Daniel for a late day visit and provided me with a quote for the work. Britney and the Williams team kept me updated and let me know when Daniel was on his way. Daniel arrived, clean, courteous and professional and was genuinely happy to be able to help. Upon inspection of the springs, door, opener, rails (all parts of the garage door system) He let me know the plan. He then proceeded to perform the work, answer any questions and engaged in conversation during the work. He provided helpful guidance, improved a couple of aspects of the installation that were not ideal, and he was outstanding in every way. Perfect. I followed up with Britney after Daniel left and the work was completed to say thank you. Williams Mgmt: I'd give your team 10 stars but I can only give you 5 here! Your associates and management team are doing it right. Keep up the great work! Thank you! Doug

Williams Door Co. is a first-class operation, from the initial contact, to the dispatcher, and finally the service technician. The tech, Daniel, was very friendly and took great care to ensure that what I requested (raise the opener motor) would not hamper overall operation of the garage door. He then worked efficiently to perform that task, as well as to then replace the door spring (and add a second spring). The price for the parts and labor was very reasonable, too. Highly recommend!

I had a spring break on my garage door last night, so I looked into some recommendations from neighbors. I reached out to four different companies, and their quotes were all pretty similar, ranging from $350 to $385. Then I contacted Williams Door Company, and they are able to send someone over in just three hours. With a total cost of $243 they turned out to be the most affordable option with the quickest service. The individual who answered the phone was courteous and professional, while Steve, who handled the installation, demonstrated a high level of professionalism and clearly articulated his work process. It was evident that he possessed a strong understanding of his tasks and took pride in his craftsmanship. Given that such experiences are rare nowadays, I felt compelled to share this positive encounter here on Google.

Both purchasing door with Amy and install with Daniel was exceptional. Ordered door and came in and installed in six weeks like informed. I have used William's Door in the past which is reason I chose them this time and have no regrets.

We couldn't be more impressed with Williams Door Co. We called them in the morning when our garage door wouldn't open due to a broken spring (with both cars stuck inside). They were at our house by lunch time. The repairman was polite, friendly and immediately put us at ease. No instilling panic or trying to upsell, but a simple "I'll get this taken care of". He repaired the spring and also a broken hinge. He then suggested adding a strut to strengthen the door structurally (which was sorely needed). We then also had him replace 2 nylon roller bearings which were wearing out. At the end, he saw that our manual pull cord was broken, so he just gave us a new one. And the charge for all of the repairs was less than what some other companies charged just to come out and replace one spring. We'd recommend this company most highly! Thank you very much. Services Rendered: Replace broken spring on garage door

We ordered a new opener and, on 12/20/16, the svc rep came out on time and removed the garage door opener and hauled it away. He installed the new opener and reset the door controls. We paid $425.75 which included a discount for the svc call oirginally made on 12/16/16. However, he had to return the next day (12/21/16) to install the external door opener control because he forget to bring it with him the day before. On 1/20/17, I noticed that the garage door was not closing properly and had a rep come out (4th trip) on 1/23/17. He shortened the opener arm and readjusted the door travel limits. Services Rendered: On 12/16/16, a svc rep came out and determined that the garage door opener motor no longer was functioning. The opener was original equipment when home was built in 1995. I have used Williams Door Company in the past for other svc.

From choosing a new door at Williams Door's office to the two installers that came to my home, everything was great! The installers were on the job when promised and completed the installation in a professional manner. Clean up of the old garage door was completely and quickly done. The locking mechanism will need to be adjusted, but I am expecting no problems with that. I highly recommend this company. Services Rendered: Replace old basement garage door.
