I had this company take out my old bathtub and install a new glass door shower with all new tile. I am very pleased with the work and have no complaints. The repair was done at a very reasonable price.

I called (859) 887-5876 from an ad on Craigslist, advertising as a handyman in Nicholasville, and giving the name of “Rick”. Seems this number is the same as for A-1 Home Improvement. In their website they claim to be “I am an accredited BBB member.” However the BBB says “Not BBB Accredited”. So, which one you gonna believe? And they have only ONE review, a five star review of course. Suspicious? I think so. Wonder who put that one review on there? Anyway, this old man came to my home to look at the job. He was in worse physical shape than me, but said he had sons. So I figured he was just the estimator, and his sons would actually do the work. He seemed like he wasn’t sure if it was something he would to take on, but PROMISED he would “call me that evening” to let me know one way or the other if he was interested. I took him at his word. My word means something to me, so I foolishly thought it would be the same for any person. WRONG! It’s been over a week now. I wasted my time waiting for this guy to contact me and let me know one way or the other. It seems obvious now that he decided the job was too much for him, or his boys. That’s fine. But is it too much to expect him to let me know if it’s a job he and his boys can’t handle? I don’t think so. That would just be common courtesy. Very unprofessional and down right RUDE not to keep his word and let me know if it was a job that was just too much for him and his boys. So I would warn others to beware of these people. If they can’t keep their word about something as simple as making a phone call, how could we trust them to keep their word about doing a job correctly? Also, if you read their website, they claim to be experts in MANY things. From metal roofs and gutters, and everything else. Really? I’ve found that people are better at something when they specialize in a limited number of things. But, excuse the rant. If you chose to read it all, I hope it gives you insight into their business ethics. Or lack thereof.
