Yelp1As a licensed CA general contractor and fellow tradesman I am seriously disappointed by Jack's decision to leave my client and I high and dry in response to our request for him to fix a simple calibration issue with his newly completed garage door work (an otherwise 100% correct and quality installation.) Jack installed the clients new garage door in such a way that upon its initial use, the door was not functioning properly (un-commanded reopening) and likely needed only a simple re-adjustment for the door to operate as intended. I, being a GC who has installed and adjusted many a garage door, made a small adjustment to the closed limit setting of the door in a good faith effort to save Jack the trip from Middletown and resolve the issue myself. (oops, Jack will later get me for that one!) The problem persisted. Instead of making the admittedly inconvenient trip to Lakeport to perform a final adjustment as he had promised the first time I called to tell him about the problem, Jack chose instead to save himself the gas money and use the fact that I executed a single troubleshooting procedure in the exact manner spelled out by the homeowner product manual to make the case that by doing so, I had voided his warranty altogether and that I would need to pay an additional $120 for a service call if I wanted him to come back for the fix. No thanks Jack! I should have known when you begged me to pay you in full up front that this garage door would come with that good old taillight warranty! I also wasn't impressed with Jack's decision not to carry even the most basic general liability insurance policy to cover his clients and his work. Yes Jack, I know, it's "not required for my license class." Two thumbs down from me.

Yelp5Jack Wilson and his assistant came out the same day I called. He came when he said he would and had the repair done and an additional service that I requested completed within an hour. Jack also gave me some helpful advice. The spring replacement seemed on the high end as far as prices go, but his competent, energetic service and the fact that my door was fixed the same day I called even though he is more than an hour away from me made the cost worthwhile.

Yelp5Jack picked up the call after hours on a Saturday and was able to come down to Calistoga to help me that night. He returned a few days later to completely tune up my garage door lift and realigned the tracks, straightened out the crossbar, adjusted the springs, lubricated the mechanisms and leveled the door. They even moved the braces that were improperly installed by the original company. There is a real pride in workmanship and pricing was fair and reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or call Jack in the future.

Yelp5Jack showed up the next morning after calling him the previous night and replaced the broken springs. He checked and adjusted the door and opener. Everything is running smooth now. I would certainly recommend him to fix any issues with your garage doors. Fast and affordable service!

But I will never forget how great Jack Wilson was to work with. For starters, he saved us a couple thousand dollars on his bid from other garage door vendors. Cost aside, his service exceeded even the significant savings. He had to make extra trips to finish the job due to my changes and was always responsive and showed up when he said he would. Jack loves garage doors like some men love watching football. He came recommended by another reputable garage door contractor who told me he doesn't work where we are located and suggested I call Jack. So glad I did, if you need new doors or servicing on your garage doors, you won't regret if you use Wilson Garage Doors.

Yelp5Jack is the best garage door business man in this area. A very smart, honest, reliable business man that can save you lots of money & time. Jack repaired our garage door after our 4 day PG&E power outage here in HVL. Truly an amazing honest guy to deal with and takes the time to explain how the garage door functions properly. If I could give this man 10 stars I would. DO NOT use JERI-CO garage doors they will ripe you off & never return your calls.

Yelp5Jack Wilson is a class act and his doors are perfect. We wanted hi-end garage doors for our new hidden valley home to really enhance the curb appeal. We initially looked for Napa or Santa Rosa contractors but they didn't want to come to Lake County. A friend of mine recommended Jack. I called him he showed up that day. He offered high end Coplay doors and all the mechanisms to hold these super heavy glass doors. Doors were ready in a few weeks and as promised Jack showed up for two days of install. He was in and out and our doors are stunning. We are thrilled and highly recommend his services if you're looking for garage doors especially if you are investing in expensive high quality doors.
