Yelp5We called on a holiday weekend late in the day after a spring had broke on our garage door. They booked our appointment for first thing the next morning. The Technician was very friendly, thorough and arrived on time (actually a little earlier than expected) - he went right to work, 25-30 minutes later he was done and our door works better/smoother now then I can ever remember it working. PLUS the final cost of all parts/service fees was WAY cheaper than other quoted prices we received by other local companies. Highly recommend this business!

Angi5He arrived early in the one hour window he had given. He observed the noisy door, replaced some parts, charged less than the original estimate and was finished in less than an hour. The man was obviously knowledgeable and competent. Very happy. Services Rendered: Called yesterday for "growling" door. Came today and fixed it

Angi5I have done quite a bit of business with them. For our company we use them for lots of different things. Sometimes they are installing garage doors and sometimes they are doing regular maintenance. I like their responsiveness to get out and take care of whatever work we need; they are fast. Services Rendered: We used American Overhead Door for general garage door maintenance.

Angi5American Overhead Door was contacted when our overhead opener quit working. They came out in rapid time. I was most impressed by the progression of events: (1) I told the man it was broken, that we tested the plug to be certain it wasn't the problem and to just install a new opener. He insisted on rechecking the plug. (2) Then he tried to fix our old opener, which was impossible because of a ruined circuit board. (3) He gave us the option of purchasing either a used opener or a new opener. We opted for the new opener and also had a digital keypad installed beside the garage door. (4) All of this was concluded in a little over an hour. We are used to hard sales pitches from companies and this was truly a shock. We are definitely going to spread the word to friends and family. Honesty, the option to save money, no sales pressure - how great is that?!!! Services Rendered: Installed a new door opener and a digital keypad.

Angi5They had the door that I wanted that was rated R-19. They got the belt drive with motor back up that we wanted. They were very polite and did a great job. Services Rendered: We just had a new garage door put in by American Overhead Door Company. They finished it last Tuesday.

Angi5Since I have a single car garage, occasionally I park too close to the outside wall. On Friday, 8/3/2012, while trying to make sure I didn't hit the wall, I was not paying attention to the garage door when I started to back up. Unfortunately, the door was not all the way up; and I hit it. Could not close the garage door. Got out the yellow pages and called one company who advertised emergency service. They told me they could come that evening between 6 and 8. About 10 minutes later, they called and said they could not come that evening and wanted to know if I would like to make an appointment for the next morning. I told them I could not leave my garage door open overnight. I called a couple of other companies with no response. I saw the ad for American Overhead Door; and even though they did not list emergency service, the fact that the ad stated they had been in business 27 years, was bonded and licensed caught my eye. I called, and Mr. Bledsoe answered. I asked him if he offered emergency service, and he asked what was going on. I told him what I had done, and he said he would try to help me at least get the garage door down. With him going over various parts of the garage door with me on the phone, I was able to get the garage door down. I asked him if he could repair it, and he said he could, but not that evening. He stated he could be at my house at 9 a.m. the next morning. At 8:55 a.m., he was knocking on my door. After "knocking" out the dent in the door, realigning the bottom seal, adding the strut and realigning the top part of the door, he left at 9:30. My garage door was closing correctly. I was very impressed with how helpful Mr. Bledsoe was in helping me to figure out how I could close the door the evening I hit it. He was very kind, considerate and most helpful. I have passed his name and number along to several people I know and would most definitely give him a call again if I ever have any further issues with my garage door. Services Rendered: Over the phone, walked me through a checklist of what was going on with the door and through his assistance, I was able to lower the door. Came the next morning and repaired my garage door so that it would close properly and added an additional metal strut to reinforce the bottom of the door.

Angi5See last answer. I thought the service was wonderful. Services Rendered: The garage door main spring broke on a Saturday evening. I called several providers, but he was the only one who answered. He couldn't come then but promised to come by Sunday afternoon. He was here when he said (he was running late but called). He replaced the spring; checked my door for other problems found some and solved them (without extra charge - he had told me how much to begin with). He checked everything about the door (the neighbors even got him to come over and solve their door problem before he left. He helped them with several problems (he had already quoted them a price and did the extra work with no extra charge - that may have been just the way they operate).

Angi5The price was very good and he did a great job. He cleaned up the garage to where I couldn t even tell he was here. I had other estimates, and they were twice the price. He was on time, was very professional and polite and I would highly recommend him. Services Rendered: The installer came to my house and took off the old garage door and installed a new twenty-foot wide single aluminum foam insulated one. He replaced all the tracking and hardware and took the old door with him.
