I am an avid fan of LifeTime and love my downtown Minneapolis location, but I was in St. Paul for a meeting and decided to check out this location. The YMCA on University is bigger and better than this place. It’s haphazardly set up, no steam room, and the locker room is so small you can hardly change. LifeTime is usually great… but this location? No good.

The remodel is awesome, but unfortunately my membership went up $30 in 3 months, and then another $20 3 months later so $50 in a less than a year. I hope there’s not more aggressive increases like this, but how would I know? Corporate says front desk deals with it and front desk says corporate deals with it, so feels like the run around to screw members into continuous increases with little say. Otherwise really nice facility and the staff are all super nice & hardworking! The classes are a really nice bonus that makes the price still worth it for me.

My experience with aesthetic nurse injector Chay at Lifetime Med Spa is exceptional. She takes the time to understand my goals, thoroughly explains my options, and makes me feel completely at ease throughout my Botox, lip flip, and filler treatments. Her gentle technique and honest guidance give me soft, natural, truly undetectable results. People constantly tell me I look so refreshed and youthful and even ask what I’ve changed in my skincare routine—no one realizes it’s because of my injections. Chay is incredibly skilled, kind, and committed to creating natural-looking enhancements. I couldn’t recommend her more!!!!

Shame on Lifetime. Highland is a scam. I have always avoided this location after being used to the Savage/Lakeville/Chan/Eden Prairie/Eagan/Woodbury locations , but for where I live and work now, this is the only reasonably close location, so most unfortunately, it’s where I’m needing to go now if I want to stay at Lifetime, which is getting far less enticing at this point. As others have said,, even at gold level this location was never remotely on par. The parking is miserable. The locker room is less than half the size of all the others. They don’t have any of the luxuries of the other gold clubs. The class offerings are dismal. Towels are hard to find. The work out floor is dark and dingy with claustrophobic, low ceilings and zero of the atmosphere or amenities of other sane-level locations. There’s no steam room, no pool, no outdoor area, it’s lacking a good stretching area, and the layout is just cumbersome. Everything is too small, too cramped, too crowded, and too annoying to use and to get to, especially compared to all other locations, especially for the exorbitant price. And there’s no high windowed entrance wafting the yoga-like scent of eucalyptus to greet you upon arrival! Laugh it off if you want, but it is a gold level standard across clubs and it is missing like so so much here. The details that say you’re at a Lifetime gym, that make you WANT to be there, that keep people paying such stupidly high prices - none of it is here. The price was hardly justifiable before, let’s be honest - it was a joke, but now they need us to pay for their renovated new floor that fixes nothing besides the previous lack of windows, so by some egregious blasphemy, the company has allowed them to, what?? Become an ONYX level club??? I can get into Woodbury and Savage and Eagan and others, all vastly superior clubs in EVERY way, but I was told today that my Gold level membership is no longer high enough for this club - because somehow this dumpster fire of a club is worth more than all of those?!?!? So my monthly price went up by another $30. THIRTY. And for what? You’d find more luxury, functionality and convenience at a YMCA. Lifetime has done its customers dirty with this one. I hope they get all the backlash they deserve for the unforgivable lie that is this club level. The ONLY reason this black sheep of the gym chain survives is because Lifetime has done a crap job at giving St. Paul, you know, just our state’s capitol, ANY options for locations. Because if we had any options remotely like the ones they’ve scattered around Minneapolis and damn near every suburb in the greater Twin Cities, almost nobody would freely choose this crap. If Lifetime keeps calling their same old clubs by pretty new names as a way to continue to raise prices, thereby lowering the standards more of more of what that club level stands for, they will never survive. What a joke. What a scam. For shame.

PT Kelly R. at this location is wonderful. I have been working with her for over a year and she has helped me in my fitness journey so much. She is supportive and pushes you to keep improving. Cannot recommend going here and see her enough!

The Lifetime Cafe at Highland is excellent, new chef, he just made me the best grilled chicken Greek salad! Specializes in Mediterranean food. Open to the public. Right next to Wells Fargo on Ford.

I honestly hope lifetime goes out of business. I used to be such a huge supporter. For the culture, their business models, how they really seemed to understand how a company should operate... then it felt like they turned a leaf and that they could see was greed. You raised your prices during covid of all times without adding any benefits. You kept your increased prices without adding any benefits. I've been to almost all of the locations in this state of MN. I went from absolutely adoring and rooting for the company, wanting to back it with every part of me to protesting it with all of my being. You've changed, you've sold out, you used to be an idol, a company to inspire others, and now you're just icky capitalists. That's my opinion, that's what I feel I have witnessed over the past 10 years. It's all my opinion, how I feel, and I will never support a company that could have been a great place for everyone, when I feel it chose to be a place only for the elite. A place I feel and only in my opinion chose to discriminate. These are my feelings, beliefs, and opinions. I in no way state them as factual.

My lifetime experience was fantastic! But I still don’t know what happened to Mary. The equipment fits perfectly in this facility, not packed in at all and plenty of variety. I also found plenty of water fountains to complete my hydration needs! Bonus points for having a Wells Fargo in the building.
