Do NOT buy garage doors from Ziegler Doors. We purchased 3 garage doors from this company. We have had so many issues with the garage doors due to their weight. We have continually tried to call the company to resolve our issues. We are not able to get anyone to answer the phone or our emails. We have had to spend thousands of dollars with another garage door company to try to provide more supports for the doors and have had to purchase commercial garage door openers, since the ones we bought through Ziegler were not large enough to handle the weight. We continue to have issues with the weight of the doors and Ziegler continues not to respond to our calls or emails. They do not support their products or provide any type of warranty. The doors are so bad, that after less than a year, we have to replace them. Steer clear of this company.

Thieves!! Zeigler Garage Doors took a $13,000 deposit in April 2022 for a driveway gate and never completed the work. I have spent countless hours a month following up, asking for updates, and requesting completion dates with no response. After threatening legal action, I received a few responses with more lies and excuses. Byron Zeigler, Adriana Penaloza, and Bryan Llamas all conspired to keep my deposit without performing. On October 18 I finally received information that Zeigler was starting on a design but could not deliver what was originally agreed upon. After 6.5 months I simply asked for a refund and was ignored again. On October 18, Byron Zeigler received an email from my lawyer asking for a refund. Only then did Byron advise a refund check was being processed. MORE LIES! As of today, there has been no check and no response to the legal inquiry. Unfortunately, I will have to pursue legal action and file a claim against Zeigler's construction bonding company. Do not do business with these people! They are unprofessional and unethical. Adriana Penaloza has said she runs Zeigler and the company is in debt. Brian Llamas has also made negative claims but continues to work and scam the public. DO NOT fall for the scam! There are plenty of other legitimate companies that do amazing work. Crown Door is one of the best!

I never write reviews, but I have to because this company's support is the worst I have ever seen in my life. It took my assistant 3 weeks of calling this company to get a return phone call. Then, another week to get an appointment. When the scheduled appointment finally comes, they are 4 hours late to my house. They tell me they've decided to postpone our appointment another hours because they are now grabbing lunch.. making it 5 hours late total. When they get here, they aren't even prepared with the step later or told required to get the job done. I live in LA.. and my garage door has been over for almost a month which in my opinion is a security risk. So not chill for this company to be so overly relaxed about everythingggg... clear they don't care about their customers at all.

Buyer beware. We ultimately had to file a complaint with the CA State Contractors Licensing board. We paid 50% down (over $12,000) for a new custom garage door and double entry doors in December 2018. We also ordered a custom mailbox earlier this year, received a quote in an email but no official estimate. Communication was horrible after we paid our deposit. We had to leave many voicemails and send many emails before getting a single response. Once we were ready for installation, it took several months to schedule. Everything was supposed to be installed at the same time, however the day before install I was informed that only the garage door was ready to install- this was in August, 8 months after we paid our 50% deposit. After the garage door was installed, we were told that the entry doors & mailbox would be installed several weeks later. The manager that we worked with left the company in September. Since then, no one will respond to our calls, emails or texts. It's almost one year since we paid 50% down. Others in a similar situation should file a complaint - google "CA state contractors licensing board complaint" to get the link to the site- process is easy, complete form online, print, sign and mail with your documents/proof of deposit. The company will not be able to renew their license if there are outstanding complaints.

We have three very beautiful Ziegler doors, which we're very happy with. Installed in 2012 and refinished twice. The last time was 10/18, and in May we noticed the finish was peeling off. I contacted the company in early June 2019, and am still trying to get them to come out and fix an inadequate refinishing job in late August 2019. Adriana is supposed to be their customer service person, but she doesn't return calls. Very disappointing because they make beautiful doors, and we were hoping to use them for a new home we're building in Northern CA. Will go somewhere else now, but will keep trying to get some follow-up from them.

Just worked with Dario form Ziegler's Doors. He was terrific and explained exactly why my fairly new garage door was failing to open consistently. He professionally made all the adjustments and re-programed the opener. Very, very responsive.

The worst company to work with. Their service is horrible. They have installed a door for my entrance with reclaimed wood and after the first rain the water stained the interior of the door. I have been back and forth with them for almost a year and their GM Paul continues to promise me a new door and still waiting. I have enough document to take them to court. I am so done with their BS promises. Save yourself the headache and work with Crown Garage Doors. By the way don't bother trying to get a hold of the owner, he won't return your calls. They don't even deserve One star.

I would give negative 100 stars if I could. Ziegler installed our garage doors as a sub-contractor for our home builder. The doors were beautiful. But from the outset, it appeared as if the hardware was laboring under tremendous strain to lift the door. Shortly thereafter, hardware flew off the door. Zielger came out at our builder’s request and insisted that the installation was correct. After our Liftmaster died (well within its warranty period), we obtained a third-party evaluation and learned that the springs installed by Ziegler were insufficient, such that the motor was operating under excessive strain. Ziegler’s mistake was significant in that the springs were rated for a max weight of 478 lbs and our door was 600 lbs. Again, we notified the builder and Ziegler came out to “evaluate.” The gentleman who supervised the work for Ziegler Doors stated that he was hired as the General Manager 6 months ago and was not personally involved with the installation for our builder. Nonetheless, before weighing the door or conducting any kind of evaluation beyond a minimal visual survey, he asserted that he was “100% certain” that this was a “maintenance issue” and not a “specification issue” with regard to the springs (i.e., our fault in failure to maintain rather than Ziegler’s fault in installing the wrong springs). He further stated that if he were Joe’s Garage Door, driving into our neighborhood, he would smell money, and say whatever was necessary to make a “quick buck” and sell us new springs. Additionally, he claimed that he did not need to weigh the door to determine that the springs were adequate because Ziegler routinely installs springs and hardware that are rated to carry a 1200 lb door. I have now had two professional and highly rated garage door companies evaluate Ziegler’s installation. Both reached the same conclusion that the springs are clearly incorrect. Ziegler’s initial installation created a major safety hazard in my home—causing a 600 lb door to slam shut like a guillotine. We are eternally grateful that no one was injured. Ziegler’s repeated refusal to acknowledge the erroneous installation is irresponsible and in bad faith. This company endangered the safety of my family and refused to correct their mistake even when presented with professional opinions and mathematical calculations showing that IPPT (inch pounds per turn) on their spring installation was plainly wrong.

Terrible experience. Terrible service. Ziegler installed the original garage door and was contacted to replace 2 broken springs that occurred 6 years later. They no-showed 3 days in a row without any explanation, after confirming all 3 dates and times. Never brought the springs. Never did the service. Never eventually responded to texts or calls. Do NOT use this company. I went with OC local fix and the did the repairs same day for a reasonable price.

It went well initially when they wanted my business. My doors were installed in 2012 and I paid over $10,000 for them. I've had the doors refinished twice since then. The first time they did a great job. The second was last October, 2018, and they charged me $925. I noticed in May 2019 that the finish was starting to peel off. I contacted them in June to try to set up an appointment to correct this issue--refinishing should last several years. I spoke to their customer service person, Adriana, and sent her photos of the peeling finish. She responded a little in the beginning, but then kept putting me off with excuses--her boss was out of the office, she had to talk to Paul, etc. I called every possible person I could find at that company, every day for many days, and I've sent emails, but no response. I finally went back to Adriana and she basically said--"I don't want to be rude, but this isn't my problem"--and this is their customer service person--very disappointing. So it didn't go well at all, and I would warn anyone interested in custom garage doors not to consider this company. Services Rendered: They made three custom garage doors for my home

Ziegler’s repeated refusal to acknowledge the erroneous installation is irresponsible and in bad faith. This company endangered the safety of my family and refused to correct their mistake even when presented with professional opinions and mathematical calculations showing that IPPT (inch pounds per turn) on their installation was plainly wrong. The propriety of springs for a garage door installation is driven by an engineering calculation and is mathematically verifiable. Below are the findings from independent, third-party professionals: Large Garage Door: The weight of the door is approximately 620 lbs. The springs Ziegler installed provide 144.06 IPPT (inch pounds per turn), meaning they are rated for a door that does not exceed 478 lbs. Small Garage Door: The weight of the door is approximately 366.5 lbs. The springs Ziegler installed provide a 93.4 IPPT, meaning they are rated for a door that does not exceed 309 lbs. Replacement of the springs to the correct specifications that should have been installed at the outset by Ziegler and repair of the Liftmaster that broke as a result of the fact that the springs could not carry the weight of the door will cost us approximately $2,000. Services Rendered: Installation of two garage doors.
