My daughter who lives in Hillsborough had two extremely noisy garage doors. Mike Gill the owner of Magpie was prompt and showed us the problems with the doors ( they had never been lubricated, drive chains were loose and original (OEM) rollers were of very poor quality. Mike told us what could be done and the cost beforehand. He made all the repairs in about an hour and charged a very reasonable amount. This guy is extremely honest, courteous and very knowledgeable. If your garage doors need servicing or replacement, I highly recommend Magpie Doors in HB.

ok, i broke an extension springs on my both my garage doors at the house and couldn't get the doors to budge. after running through list after list (yelp, google, yahoo, etc) & prices of folks who install, repair and work on these things, i was left with not a lot of choices and quotes that were all well above $800 - $1300 to replace/repair extension springs with torsion springs, new rollers, etc. for both doors. i pressed on and via a friend found out about Mike Gill & Magpie Door. Mike was great to talk to and out the next day. gave me a quote that was easily half of what all the other outfits were charging and while i kept waiting for the surprise or kicker where i get hosed based on "service trip" or other fees... it never happened. now i'm a fan. wish the Mike & his company would have been on yelp to begin with and i would have saved 2 days of calls & notes and listening to "what you need is... " and while Mike also sells, installs openers, garage doors for commercial and residential locations... at no time did i feel like i was wasting his time with my minor spring problem/repair. mike asked that i let other folks who might need him know... told him i'd do it one better...get him on yelp and let other folks know there's a good guy out there who runs his own business & knows what he's doing.... and, best yet, doesn't charge an arm or a leg!
