Google5Derik was great. He was on time and efficient in his work. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He lubricated some of the bearings to make our door run smoother. We would highly recommend Derik to anyone for installation, and maintenance, and repair.

Google5I had a spring break on my garage door recently and Universal was able to get out there the same day and get it fixed, while also giving me a great price! Jose was the repairman who did the work and he was great. 5/5 experience

Google1We had universal come out to get another bid on a repair vs replacing our garage door. We had two other companies. One being the biggest one, was outrageous. The other who we went with, was by far not only the most reasonable, but the most informative about why said items needed to be addressed. Universal was more the "pushy salesmen" type. Recommending stuff, but not giving us much explanation of why. We were also shocked that out of the three, they were the only one that tried to twist it in a way, that essentially said "If you don't do all the above, it's a huge liability, it will all fall apart, and it voids all of our warranties". The opossing companies say "The parts we replace are warrantied from normal wear n tear, just not if something else effects them". But again, universal said even "Normal wear n tear" warranty would be void if we opted out of doing all the above. This entire estimate/conversation took maybe 5 minutes on site. Again they didn't really show us things, didn't explain why they were bad, or why they determine they were bad. It was just a brief "your cables, rollers, springs, hinges, bearings, and track all need to be replace. Here's my price, it will take me about 2 hours." To top it off, when we politely said "Well thank you for your time you've given us a lot to think about, we are getting some other bids and will get back to you". The onsite technician flipped a switch. Quickly pushing for a service call. We sat their arguing in my garage. At one point he said "Okay well let me call my manager and see what i can do" I told them straight up "I don't care, i haven't signed anything, you haven't done any work, you advertise free estimates, we told your dispatcher we were looking for an estimate. We never said or indicated on the spot install". He left very angry. Later the manager called me, reinforcing "well it's not a free estimate and we need to get that service call or we will send it to collections". I told them "i would be happy to take you to court so the judge and i can both laugh in your face" and hung up on her. I'm really not an angry or rude person. But when someone advertises free estimates, gives me nothing but "greasy sales vibes" to the point i want to do anything BUT work with them, then they have the audacity to DEMAND a service call. Get bent!

Google5I worked with Rick. It was a great experience. He reviewed the problems with our garage door and the options we had available. He didn’t try to upsell us. The costs were super reasonable and the work was finished timely. The communication with the company and Rick was amazing. Very happy with the experience and will use them again.

Google5The previous tenants on the house we are renting did some sort of weird business with the garage sensors. Jose came out and fixed it for us within hours! He was so kind, efficient and helpful to explain the issue and what the fix was gonna be for my non expert brain. At six months pregnant I’m so grateful for a working garage before the snow comes. Thanks, Jose! You’re the best!

Google5Jose came out to our home today on short notice and made light work of a huge issue! Our garage door wasn’t properly balanced so it broke off the wall and nearly came out of the ceiling. They replaced everything necessary for long term use for a reasonable price. Jose was incredibly transparent and thorough in his explanations. Professional and friendly—I’d recommend them to anyone!

They did an analysis and quoted several hundred dollars to fix a problem after charging me their analysis was completely wrong and my door still did not work. Angi5The service technician, Jeff, showed up on time. He provided concise information as to the problem with my garage door, which had a broken spring, using a single spring system, and then provide a very reasonable quote for parts and labor. He replaced it with a 2 spring system, which is the standard for garage doors now. Seemed much more affordable than the prices I was seeing for other places on Angie's list. Angi5I had two companies quote the work, and I was meticulous to ensure that the contents of both bids matched ("apples-to-apples") - not only for the initial work but for warranties and service follow-ups. It took about a week to research the companies and doors/openers being quoted. Universal Garage Door was selected for several reasons - (1) less expensive for equal products, (2) Kyle. Through the quoting process, Kyle showed a high degree of integrity. He clearly wanted the business, but was never "pushy" and repeatedly wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with the product no matter who I selected. He demonstrated his knowledge of the product, had me visit the local showroom to show me the specific door (and other options), select colors, and introduce me to the door reps. Kyle performed the installation, with early support from Jeff, and was meticulous to get it right and ensure what was quoted was installed, fit, and functioned correctly. I found Kyle to be personable and engaging, and I would definitely recommend Kyle and Universal Garage Door. Services Rendered: I needed to replace an existing uninsulated Stanley garage door and Chamberlain chain-drive opener.
