I have to say as I sit in my new office - Chermak exceeded our expectations - from design to the finished product. Ours was not the easiest project as we had non standard construction and had to blend three previous remodels. Michelle was great with the design - especially with the limited space. She gave us several options to choose from. We had to move a bathroom and exterior windows to make this work. Chermak worked all permitting and inspections with the city. Tyler our on site carpenter and manager was exceptional. He was able to tackle all the challenges with previous construction, structural support, and matched beam work throughout the house. He installed French Doors that set the stage for our office. Exceptional wood working skills. Note the beams that had to be installed and how clean the construction area is. It was like this every day during construction. Anjanette, our project manager was great to work with and kept things on track. Most important there were no surprises. Noah, the owner of the company even stopped by to check on our progress. We talked vision early on, Tyler regularly checked in with us, and the team made our vision reality!

Thank you Chermak Construction for doing an awesome job. Chermak was highly recommended by Dunn Lumber in Lynnwood, WA. I chose Chermak over four other contractors. I am so happy I decided to go with Chermak, they did a wonderful job with my bathroom remodeling project. Every detail was accounted for, they completed this project in a timely fashion, and at a fair and reasonable price. Thanks again to Chermak Construction and all that participated in making this project happen. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Chermak came out and repaired a deck they had put on several years ago. My experience with them was very professional and found them to be very courteous. Chermak is a company I would go to in the future for other home repairs And would recommend to others for their needs. Mary R.

We contacted this company when we noticed water damage on our interior wall. The guys that came for the assessment were very nice. Gary was very knowledgeable and was able to pinpoint the problem which was water coming through the back door. They charged us $552 for the assessment which they said can be applied to the job when they give us the proposal on how much it would cost to fix the door. He said someone would contact us with the estimate for the job. Our check was cashed 3 days after the assessment. It’s been two weeks since Gary came and we still have not heard from anyone about actually fixing the problem.

We were compiling bids for our backyard living space & happened to call Chermack along with many other contractors. Chermack put me on the phone with a salesman who said my described project could be done for $20k. They then scheduled an appointment & sent out the same salesman to our home (totally wasting our time) he was almost an hour late, talked about his personal life for most of his visit & then without taking measurements or even walking outside; just threw out a number at us of $40k! He then said they were the “Nordstrom” of building contractors for our area... I was peeved & called Dana, she gave me more sales pitches saying they were a contractor for the “average homeowner,” and she asked me to bring my husband into their (sales room) to meet the team & a different (salesman). We reluctantly, but out of sheer curiosity went (wasting more time) with pictures in hand, measurements & pics of what we wanted. We were met by 2 women “designers” and Noah (who’s an owner or Director). He sent his friendly dog into the room to greet us, the room had a large expensive conference table, tons of “awards” and a fancy, gourmet kitchen that is similar to my own kitchen.. He brought in the same pics from their website boasting how they do $400k projects (blah blah blah). I purposely did not wear jewelry or drive our expensive car to this meeting hoping to not show them our financial status since I was already on to their game. Nonetheless, this scammer still went on to throw out a new number & see how well it would be received. & at this point I had bids from contractors for roughly $5k for concrete, 2 pavilion kits from our local big box store for under $4k, a hot tub delivered from said store for about $6k, outdoor furniture for under 2k & a local contractor to build the pavilions with his employees for $800 a piece. So, under $20k is what I was able to lock this price in at for a non-attached to our home outdoor living space. How much more could an attached to our home pavilion cost? $100K is the number he casually threw at us! How did this start at $20k over the phone, $40k when their salesman saw the inside of our custom home, and then grow to $100k after they thought they had buttered up a new “family” of theirs?! We’ve now completed our outdoor project AND had money left over to pour 5 concrete parking pads plus 1,000 square feet of asphalt to finish our driveway. All together we have still only spent $35k.. Don’t be their next dummy, be your own “project manager” and get your own bids, pay the contractors yourself & save your life savings for your own bank account. I can’t believe someone was that naive to pay them $400k to build that ugly outdoor pavilion. Probably only actually cost $40-$50k at most! But, I’m sure Noah laughed all the way to the bank with his friendly dog who gets WAY more treats too now!

Details and pictures to follow. They hire subcontractors and do little to inspect the quality of that work. The sad thing is that the true damage that results from poor workmanship, and not following standard building methods, doesn't show up for years. The risers on my front entry stairs have rotted from the inside because of insufficient venting. A terrible problem but only one of many!!!"""""""""Their response to me follows: After careful consideration and discussion with Chermak Construction Senior Management of your exterior cladding issues, it has been determined that the claddings and trims were installed per plan and / or exterior details of your drawings. Therefore, Chermak Construction will not be providing any compensation regarding the compromised areas. If requested, Chermak Construction will propose an estimate for repairs.

We relocated a laundry room from the 1st floor to a new space on the 2nd floor. The project included enclosing the new space with a wall and door; and, running new plumbing, electrical, and ventilation. The new space is 36 sq. ft. Overall, we had a poor experience working with Chermak Construction. The reason we chose Chermak over other companies was because they're a company that does as-built measurements, 3D design, and construction. The as-built and design phases were disappointing, to say the least. They measured and re-measured the space incorrectly and presented designs that weren't even possible with the given space. We never ended up getting a design that gave us a clear picture of what the room would look and feel like. The communication between design and our, so called, Project Manager (Mark Lowe) was very poor. These things should have been a red flag for us to pull from the company and go with another, however, we had already spent $1100 for the design and weren't willing to go through the process of finding another company again. The issues of poor communication and mistakes continued to present themselves throughout the construction phase of the project as well. Plumbing, electrical, and roof vents were installed incorrectly and had to be re-done. Mark Lowe was difficult to talk to and unprofessional throughout the project. We consistently had to follow up with him when we'd e-mail him with questions, he consistently showed up late for meetings (or not show up), didn't take notes at meetings, and he would roll his eyes at us when he didn't agree with us. Sub contractors and inspectors would show up at our house without any warning and wouldn't always know what they were supposed to do, so I'd have to tell them. The project was completed two weeks late and the end result of the new room is usable but not what we expected. I believe Chermak took advantage of us and overcharged us for this project. This should have been a very easy project for a company of their size but it proved to be more than they were able to handle. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to work with them on a major re-model project. We had a conference call with the owner (Noah France) to express our concerns at the end of the project, and he did listen, but we did not leave that meeting feeling satisfied that these issues wouldn't happen again for someone else. We thought, as an owner, he'd be embarrassed by how poorly this project was managed and implemented but he didn't seem surprised. If you are still reading this, please steer clear of Chermak Construction.
