Google5while there was a fair amount of phone tag involved, everyone I talked with were kind and helpful. Bob came out and pinpointed exactly what would be needed to silence our screaming garage doors, as well as how they could adjust our existing setup so we can detach the doors from the mechanism and open them during a power outage. the quoted price was reasonable and was what we ended up paying. the tech that did the actual work was diligent and quick. both Bob and the tech mentioned we could have complete silence if we changed to a belt system, but did not push in any way. every time we open the doors, we are grateful for the quiet and smooth operation. thank you!

Google5Specialty Door Service sent their tech Brandon out. He definitely went above and beyond to get us going again. We had a stuck door for a busy detail department. He was able to get it work again really quickly and in a tight space. We highly recommend this company. Running a business with five garage doors, we have needed them several times. Each visit has been pleasant, and drama free. With good value. Thanks Brandon!

Google5I changed my garage door opening from two seperate single doors to one wide double door entry. I also have a low ceiling in my garage so since I purchased the house, I have had to duck when walking through my garage or else bang my head on the garage door railings (which I had done a couple of times). I had been told this is simply something I had to live with as a result of the low ceiling. Matt, from Specialty Door Service came to install the new wide garage door. He looked at my setup and told me he would do everything possible to give me a few inches more overhead clearance. He worked diligently on the installation of the door for several hours without taking a break. He told me while he was working that this had to look like what he would want for his own home and he was determined to get it there. Matt is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and expert at what he does. Not only was the installation done excellently but he gave me the overhead clearance in the garage that he promised to focus on. I no longer have to duck walking through my garage. Furthermore, Matt left my garage area spotless after he finished. He swept up all debris, took away pieces of wood and plastic that were left behind after the door opening had been completed. He also changed the batteries on our garage door openers and ensured I was completely satisfied before he left. I am very impressed with Matt and Specialty Door Service. I would highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.

Google1Extremely unreliable. The technicians are fine if you have time to micro manage their office- they are categorically incapable of meeting deadlines and office staff do not forward messages or return calls. I've been dealing with Specialty Door for almost 6 months for what should have been under 8 hours of work and I'm still waiting on a refund for the parts of the job they didn't do.

Google1I'm not very happy with their service. Technician came out to fix my cables which he did but said I needed new switches. Upon further observation I found out the switches were altered and he said that they were bad. Wrong! I looked at them myself and found out the they were in the wrong position. Dishonesty in business is what I dislike. And I will never call them back. It took over a month to get ahold of the manager and she sounded like she condones the technicians behavior. Wasn't the first time they tried to upsell me. Beware of them.

Google5Had them do repairs on the back of our box trucks for tightening springs when they're loose and getting their advice. They've been very accommodating, always professional and helpful with information. Referred them to several colleagues and it is who I would trust with my small business trucks.

Google5I was doing some maintenance around the garage when I noticed my garage door springs were not stretched evenly so I took a picture and drove to Specialty door. They looked at the photo and advised replacement. They walked me thru the measurements I would need and when I came back with the info they sold me the correct springs for the job at a very reasonable price. Thanks again Bob!

Google5We had a great experience with Specialty Door Service! The front door to our shop is an old, solid wood, 4 panel accordion door on a track. It has been creaking and groaning for years like it's going to die any moment. After a couple hours, Chris and his assistant had the door in top notch shape. It now slides open/shut without a peep. Honestly, this door has never functioned this well. It's like a new door! They were polite, worked continuously, and cleaned up. I highly recommend Specialty Door.

Yelp1They invoice me a $340.69 service charge to come out and take pictures of my door and to tell me they need to upgrade the door wiring. That has nothing to do with the reason, I had to call them for. They are just ripping people off. Please do NOT do business with this company

Yelp5We have be working with specialty Door about two years. They have done a repair and several preventive maintenance service. They are easy to contact, they call you back and they respond to requests. Our door is used for condo residences and commercial businesses and we need people we can depend on and they have done a good job for us.

Yelp1They charged me $49 service charge to come out and look at the job. Okay, I kind of get that but it would have been nice to let me know up front. The bad part is the $112.50 for writing the quote for the job. They said it took the Tech an hour to write up the quote. They are just ripping people off. $178.30 to look at a door repair job and do no work?? Sounds like a great business plan. I will come to your place and do no work for half that.

Yelp5Had a torsion spring break on our garage door rendering it useless. Called around to several locations but only Specialty Door Service was able to address our issue same day. The technician (Chance) was extremely polite, informative, and best of all got the job done in time for me to pick my daughter up from school. Thank you. -Tim

Yelp1Do not use. Poor service. Missed set appointment. Came to house to adjust one garage door and repair another. When they left, neither door worked. Field tech was scary and a poor representative. Office staff Did not seem shocked, canned responses (I was not the first call like this). We were told by a second tech, first didn't know what he was doing. I figured that one out.

Yelp1Bob F, the owner, wrote a response saying that doing the right thing is not something that they should be bullied into...EXACTLY MY POINT!!!!! I shouldn't have to write a factual review of my horrible experience with them to get them to do the right thing...they should just want to do the right thing, rather than ripping off their customers. Don't waste your time or money with these folks...use someone else!

Yelp1Amateur hour and unprofessional. I called them on a Wednesday to setup a box truck door repair. They said that somebody would call back to setup everything up. Never got a call back. Called them again on Thursday and the guy i spoke to gave me an option of bringing it to the shop or when they are in my area they'll stop by and check it out. I said I'm good waiting til the are in my area. I asked when they would be in my area they said the latest would be tuesday. ok cool. Tuesday rolls around no call no show. I call them on Wednesday to ask whats up? The lady said they'll have someone call me to give me answers. Guess what no callback. If it's truck door repair you need call Heiserbody they are professional.

Yelp1we called these folks to come and fix a roll up door in a building that has several of the same door and mechanisms. their sticker was on the doors, and we assume they were the installer of them. the building is fairly new construction. technician shows up and inspects. the door goes up about 6 inches and you can hear cogs slipping etc, says the motor is shot... in conjunction with the screw drive mechanism.... we say fix it. later that day someone from the office calls me, says a circuit board is shot and that's the problem. i cant figure out, without a new tech person coming out, how it changed from the motor, cogs etc to a circuit board, but it did. i am told he has to go to auburn to get it. he does, puts it in and it doesn't work. then I'm told he has to go to auburn and get another circuit board, he does, puts it in and it does not work, but i am not told this. then days later, after i think it is fixed, i get a call from the tenant and a call from this company telling me it doesn't work. mike, from this company says in a message, it is the screw-drive portion of the mechanism, they are stripped and possibly the motor. WOW!!! this is what we were told get go and it was determined from the first visit!! he leaves a long message saying , where do we go from here? we have a lot of time into this and what do you want to do? he makes it clear, that even though they totally screwed up, made us wait a ridiculous long time, repaired things that are not needed and that the door is still not fixed, and makes it clear we should be responsible for their errors etc. this is not super complicated equipment, it is a genie garage door opener!! they work on openers every day. there is the motor, pulley system and electrical. it is not hard to figure out whats going on with a proper inspection. people make mistakes, but why would you make your customer responsible for your blatant errors and incompetence? they leave a message saying "where do we go from here?". where you go from here, the minute you screwed up, is get the correct parts and fix the thing and charge your customer for what should have been done in the first place and not shove your mistakes and costs down the throat of your customer. i felt it was unbelievable when i heard the message, and that he wanted me to be responsible for their mistakes and actions, instead of an apology for jacking us around and that it would be fixed asap! i get a message from them that starts; "i am not sure whats going on" well if they don't know what going on, where does that leave the customer. we are calling someone else after all this time and inconvenience and we have to send another person from our office to meet them .
