Jon Alexander of Sunshine Construction designed and oversaw a major remodel for me. He was punctual, fast, and exceedingly helpful. Jon was extremely sensitive to project cost. His cost-saving suggestions saved probably tens of thousands of dollars. His design ideas and practical experience, clearly honed over decades, were essential. Jon's fees were far less than I would have expected for someone of his experience and judgment. Jon also prepared all the paperwork required for the bank's rehab loan. Because of his knowledge and experience, things went very smoothly with the financing and bank oversight of project phasing. Above all, Jon is among the most honest and trustworthy people I have ever met. At all times, he put my interests and preferences first and foremost. Update: Since that project, Jon has given me spot-on advice on several other smaller remodeling projects. He has been particularly astute at advising on the selection and oversight of contractors and tradespeople. He's smart, tactful, friendly, respectful, and astute, so with his decades of experience hiring and overseeing subcontractors he's really good at foreseeing and avoiding potential problems and disagreements among contractors, subcontractors, and clients.

When I began the remodel my brewery, CommuniTea Kombucha, several years ago, I was a babe in the woods. ”I did not know what I did not know!” When I began to be aware of the scope of the project, I realized I might well have bitten off more than I could chew. Partway through the process, I hired Jon as a consultant. He had to step in; in the middle: a difficult role. He straightened out our process and helped us finish the job. The skills he put to very good use for us included: • He helped us hew to the "critical path" needed to get us most directly to our goal. He persistently identified for me the things I really needed to concentrate on. He sent us lists of remaining priorities updated weekly . • He helped us hire high quality sub-contractors. He has worked in this field for decades and has a list of subs he has worked with and whom he trusts. This was invaluable to us. • He has good relations with everyone. He can get people to answer the phone when others who call are routed to voicemail. • He is responsible and trustworthy. He will do what he says, when he says.

Lee did an excellent job and allowed me to hire only 1 person to fix everything in the house and outside (plumbing, electrical, finish work, paint, install doors). After getting to know him over four days, he's done a lot of large scale remodels previously and has tons of experience. Lee is an exceptional value and has cheaper rates than other handymen I called. Plus, he is on time, and stayed late two nights to meet our appraisal deadline. I will be using Lee in the future, no question. Services Rendered: Rebuild vanity, plumb sink, install 5 appliances and garbage disposal, repair large hole in wall, paint tall walls and bathroom, install bathroom fan from attic, install 4 custom doors, fix front door, clean roof of moss, install lighting fixtures, adjust garage door track, fix gate, install transition on floor, adjust shed door to fit and do wood finish work on appliance.
