Yelp1Replaced a broken spring. Technician could not align the door afterward, throwing his tools and stepping on the classic car in our garage damaging it. After claiming the garage door was "fixed", it never operated properly and came out of the track again 6 weeks later. Had to hire another, more reputable company to fix the door properly after they refused doing the work even though they charged our credit card. The second repair company explained it was done improperly the previous time.

Yelp1Replaced garage door coils with wrong size then aligned door incorrectly causing it to partially fall out of track. After putting back and "fixing" I was charged a lot and two months later the door malfunctioned again and jumped out of track crooked again. Had another reputable company on-site to help fix and they explained everything that was done wrong before. Stay away, you've been warned!

Yelp1Called Gibraltar Door Services who is apparently a referral service. Tech from WA Garage Doors and Gates arrived. Our door was off track and the pulley needed to be rewound. Was quoted a price of $1700 to repair the door, we said no thank you we will get a few estimates first. Was then offered a 25% discount, no thank you still too high. Was then told $600. We finally agreed to the price and the door was back on track within 30 minutes. Tech was constantly trying to tell us how bad the door was and we would need new parts and maybe a new door during the price negotiations. No new parts installed, same bent rollers re-installed. So we paid $600 plus tax for less than 30 minutes of labor and a few squirts of WD-40. Will not be using the referal service or WA Garage Doors ever again.

Yelp2We hired WA Garage Doors & Gates about a year ago to do some repairs to an inoperable security gate in our front driveway. Their initial response time was quick - a service tech came out the same day I placed the call, and the extensive repairs that were required to get our gate operational again (including changing out the motor and installing a safety system) were completed within a week of us accepting their bid. I didn't get a bid from another gate company, since this one was able to jump right on the job and we didn't want to wait several weeks to collect bids. It was not a cheap endeavor, but they seemed to do quality work and we did not have anything to compare it to (other than other contractors, which are all expensive these days). We do have young children and a dog that we need to keep contained in our yard - so, we were definitely happy to have an operational security gate within a week. The men who came out were friendly and seemed to be efficient. Overall, the initial experience was a positive one. A problem quickly became apparent with how the security sensors were installed. One of them was attached to a very short post, which is nearly impossible for cars to see when they are pulling in and out of the driveway, especially when it's dark. Our driveway is not particularly wide, and the way the new gate was installed actually reduced the entry area by several inches. We expressed concerns over it right away - especially since I myself had managed to clip it with my front tire just days after - and our concerns were scoffed at. In their opinion, there was plenty of space for the cars to enter the driveway, and that strategically placing some boulders at the base of the driveway should keep vehicles at a safe distance. Of course, we continued to have issues with cars hitting the sensor (pizza delivery guy, FedEx, parents dropping of their kids for play dates, the gardener). A final hit by a delivery truck destroyed it completely, and we tried getting ahold of WA Garage and Gate to move the short post and relocate the sensor. We have tried calling, emailing, and messaging through Yelp, all to no avail. For several weeks, their number would go to voicemail, with a voicemail box that was full and could not receive messages. Emails were not responded to, and neither was a Yelp message (which shows a 1 hour, 100% response rate). They must have finally cleared their voicemail box, because I eventually was able to leave a message for them. However, this too received no response. We have since found another company to help with the repairs, but if you're considering using this company for any major repair work, you may want to look elsewhere. Based on our experience, it's doubtful that they honor their warranty, and aren't interested in providing good service.

Yelp5My garage door won't open and I couldn't get my car out I was looking on yelp for a good review company and I found WA garage doors and gates the technician arrived at the same day and fix my garage door opener that wasn't functioning also explained me everything that was needed for future maintenance thank you very much highly recommended I will use you in the future

Yelp5Short and sweet version - I highly recommend that you pick WA Garage Doors & Gates to do your repair based on the customer service, timely manner, and down right honest work for honest pay!!! The young gentleman Danny, the technician that came out to do the repair, takes the time to answer your questions, is polite, and is fast and efficient at his work. They do both residential as well as commercial garage doors. Another bonus if it matters to you is that you'll be supporting a small family own business. It is a father and son outfit so I'm a huge advocate of helping small business owners especially a father and son team! BEST OF ALL -- They have a Groupon Deal going on right now for $159 for $289 worth of repairs!!!! Instead of buying the Groupon, I just called Danny and he was willing to give me the same deal without the hassle of making a Groupon purchase. I believe it also works better in their favor too. Long and detailed version - One of two torsion springs broke on our heavy wooden 2-car garage door and it needed to be replaced in order for the garage door to lift. I thought about replacing it myself but decided against it because it looked too heavy and required some power tools that I did't have. Boy, was I glad that I called WA Garage Doors & Gates to do the work! Danny came out to the house and did an outstanding job within about an hour. It would have probably taken me the entire day if I was to try to figure out how to do it myself and I am a tiny gal. I'm fairly frugal with my money and will do most repairs myself when I can but on this job, I definitely felt the value was worth the money spent on parts and labor. He replaced both of the torsion springs, changed both of the cables on each side of the tracks, checked to make sure the springs were well balanced after being replaced, tighten all the bolts on the garage door, sprayed lubricant on the springs and various rollers, and made sure the garage door lifted nice and smooth. Backstory - I had called 6 other garage door repair businesses before deciding on WA Garage Doors and Gates. Four of the businesses ( 1) All State Door Co. in Puyallup, and 2) Pierce County's Affordable Garage Door Repair, 3) GDS Garage Door Service, and 4) Sears Home Service) refused to give me a direct quote on the phone even though I knew it was the torsion spring that broke and needed to be replaced. They insisted on coming out to the house to give me and estimate and wanted to charge $89 to just come out for the estimate with the exception of Sears that offered a free estimate. They try to scam you by offering you a "special deal" of only $39 to come out instead of $89. If you get this line of sale, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY!!! ONLY DO BUSINESS WITH THOSE THAT CAN GIVE YOU A DIRECT QUOTE OVER THE PHONE if you know exactly what is wrong (ie. broken torsion spring, broken cable, roller misalignment, etc) . It's not rocket science. It's a garage door. The other two businesses ( 4) DistrbuDoors, and 5) All Right Garage Doors were much more legit and gave me an estimate over the phone for the work to be done. My second choice would have been to go with DistruDoors. They also seemed direct and honest about their costs and service and didn't give you a high pressure sales pitch. However, after talking to Danny from WA Garage Door and Gates, he was willing to take the time to answer my questions and to give me the name of the exact type of torsion spring that he would be installing with the cost estimate so I could be sure that I was getting a good heavy duty spring (made in Canada) for the estimate instead of some crappy part from China.
