Im a little disappointed, we called for a estimate on a repair for a door that would not go down or up. They came for about 10 min said nothing they can do but replace the whole door. It would take 6-8 weeks SMH. They came for 10 min did nothing and was billed $357.00. I was frustrated more than anything. I called another company and was quoted 1/2 the price with no cost to come out and take a look. They stayed more than 10 min and gave more details on the issues and what choices I have. I called R n S first because of the reviews but maybe its the San leandro site is the issues.

So, I'm back. I would say an update. But, that would mean the quality changed. It didn't. They were a 5 star 3 or 4 years ago, and here I am again not changing my rating. I thought I needed a new garage door. I forgot the lady's name, but she indicated from some pictures they took on a previous visit that didn't. I asked about a new motor and upgraded from the old style chain. Quick. Easy. Professional. I love the new motor. It's quiet, and it came with a camera and connectivity to my phone so I can see any activity and even remotely close the door if I forget. Thanks, guys.

Used to be trustworthy... now just a scam. I had been a customer of R&S for 7 years and had used them for annual maintenance on our driveway gate. This year, the gate was sticking and having trouble unlatching. They sent a new-to-me guy out. He spent two hours on the phone with "tech support" and then told me that both the latch and the gate control board were irreparably broken and needed an $8,000(!) repair. When he left, the gate wouldn't work at all. Oh, and he sent me a $450 bill for his time. $8000 seemed like an awful lot. I opened the housing on the latch and saw that one of the wires to the lock had been cut. A nice clean fresh cut. I spliced the wire back together and... amazing... the gate and latch work perfectly. What a con. I can't tell you that they cut the wire, but I can tell you that this non-professional found and fixed the obvious problem in five minutes. I called R&S four times to try to talk with them about their service. Lots of "oh, not my department" and left voicemails. Never got a call back. Shame on you, R&S.

Consummate professionals. The quality of work received was worth the research. I am pretty cheap already yet, willing to fork out on sincere work. Leon was the tech assigned to my location. He arrived early and I opted to replaced BOTH springs. He continued his work and checked for door balance, tightened the motor chain, and inspected the cable. Finished by recommending a silicone base lubricant for track and hinges. Total for everything about $400. Yes, a little steep. Yet for TWO springs 3 year parts guaranteed and solid service I can appreciate where the slightly higher costs went. Thank you R&S for employing sincere folks and keeping the prices as low as possible. A value in my opinion that is worth the time and honest investment. Tips: *Best to make and appointment *R&S is 24/7 yet, try for a week day during normal business hours. Saturday/Sunday and possibly odd hours may have an increased labor rate. *Get the quote when you call and then decide. Again, thank you Tech Leon and R&S for getting my garage back in order.

Marcellus and Gerald are excellent. I have my garage doors serviced quite often since they are pretty old and every time that Marcellus is the technician the problem is solved so quickly and lasts for a very long time. He’s even corrected other technician’s work on many occasions. Marcellus and Gerald make a great team. These guys are total professionals--prompt, responsive, helpful, friendly, and hyper-competent. I bought three remote controls from their store in San Leandro, and Lily showed me how to set them up. I had problems getting one of the doors to close, called them up, and that day Doug came by our house and solved the problem in 5 minutes. My experience with them could not have been better. In reviewing the proposal, the owner cooperatively worked with me to fine tune the scope and selection of the opener model. They were punctual for both appointments, the proposal and the installation. There was an error made by the estimator regarding the size of the springs, but this did not cause a delay in the installation; the correct size was quickly fabricated and delivered to the jobsite as to avoid any delay to the completion of the work!
