We found his name, contacted him. He came out immediately and sounded like he would be prompt, knew what he was doing and should be our choice to repair our house. He stated he knew how to deal with insurance companies and wanted to try to get the roof covered too. There wasn't enough damage. He stated he couldn't start right away because he was pretty busy, which we understood. It did take him quite a while to get started ( a month or so). He came out to measure, then we didn't see him for a while. He later contacted us letting us know that our siding was no longer available, which we told him when he started this ( we had a few other quotes and already was told this, which we told him). No contact again for a while. My husband calls him, he can't even remember who we are, so after my husband refreshes his memory, he states he's waiting on siding. Finally a few weeks later a crew shows up. They remove our downspouts, redo the siding. The siding looks good but trim is left in the yard and the downspouts are not put back up. The downspout were off for most of the project. We again wait. We end up calling him, once again. He comes out to see what's left which is plenty. He says he'll get started on the rest. I can't remember step by step but the entire job took A YEAR to finish with him showing up at random times without calling ahead (two times while we had family over to celebrate holidays), after not hearing from him for weeks to a month in between. Each time, he did one more part, leaving the rest for later. Once the work was done it looks fine, mostly, but he's very disorganized and it felt like we had to keep track of what needed done for him. Most the phone calls felt like he was trying to bluff us through knowing where he was on the job or even what house we were talking about. Several times he called asking to wrap up the bill and we'd have to remind him that there was still unfinished work. No way were we going to pay it off at this point without it being completely done. He gave us a quote at the beginning of the project. We payed for part of it once some of the work began. He finally gets done and wants my husband to sign over the insurance check. He refuses and asks what we owe, the owner has no idea. My husband tends to keep very good records so he goes in to look at what is already paid and what the quote was, plus any changes. He tells him what he thinks we should owe, they agree on that and finally we are done dealing with this company. Much to our relief. Never again. I had other families and friends hit by tornadoes this year and I referred them to the company who fixed damage we had from this year's storm. Which, by the way, that company took care of my friend's house before mine was even finished, and mine was damaged the year before theirs, with about the same type of work. Services Rendered: We had storm damage. We had them install siding, gutters, downspouts, garage doors (they outsourced this), replace a window and some screens, some trim items (outdoor lights and decorative siding pieces) and power-wash part of the house to remove hail streaks.
