Discovered our garage door wouldn't open on a weekend morning. Called the number for the original installer (from many years ago) and found that A Plus had taken over his business. He called right back and said he'd be right here. The main spring on our heavy, hurricane-proof door had broken. He fixed it, checked out the opener and door, didn't try to sell us anything else, was courteous and friendly, and finished within an hour of our call. His charge was reasonable and we highly recommend him. Services Rendered: Replace garage door spring.

It went great. 2:30PM Monday I called A Plus Overhead, spoke to Brian, who had Jim call me, who showed up at my garage door Monday evening by 5:30PM, who then commenced to reviving the garage door with the required maintenance, which did not require new parts. Prompt, professional, pleasant with a reasonable price. Thanks, Jim! Services Rendered: Garage door was making wonky noises at lift-off; it lost the will to lift Sunday afternoon.

Early on Thursday, January 14th was a very chilly morning. I had opened the garage door with no issue & dragged down my trash can to the curb. I went back in the garage, and pressed the button to close the door. When the door started to close, it abruptly stopped, went back up, and the indoor light blinked. All symptoms of something too close to the garage door opening, but there was NOTHING in the way. I called the 24 hour line, and spoke to a nice gal to describe the issue. She advised that a technician would call me shortly. Within 5 minutes, Jim T. called me back. As I described the symptoms, he asked me to press and hold the garage door opener button until the door closed completely. It closed!! (thank goodnes, did I mention it was cold!) Jim advised that the "electronic eye" sounded like the culprit, and that he'd be out later in the afternoon to check it out. He was right - I had allowed something to hit one of the sensors, and although the offending item had been moved, it had caused the issue. I was a little embarrassed have having caused my own problem, but Jim was very kind about re-aligning the sensors, and the garage door has worked like a charm ever since. Oh, by the way, Jim REFUSED payment for the service call. He totally understood the situation, and it only took him a few moments to identify and fix the problem. We will definitely use A Plus Overhead Garage Doors and Openers Inc. again in the future! Services Rendered: Provider gave "work-around" over the phone and followed up with visit to re-adjust the electronic "eye" for the garage door opener.
